Temporarily Closing Registrations - Dealing with Spam

I've had to temporarily turn off new registrations as the spam problem is ridiculous. I've opened a ticket with vbulletin asking for some more support as this is a cloud hosted service by them now.

There will be a mass deletion of all spam posts soon - again a feature that vbulletin decided to turn off in their wisdom.

Hopefully we'll be back up and running soon. Apologies for the inconvenience.

    Hot Links Section open

    So you may notice when you click new posts/todays posts for the first time since I just implemented it, it'll be spammed with me.

    Hopefully it won't be like that everyday but just with updates. It's got a craigslist rss feed going on. I think it could work out quite well, but it's on trial for now. We'll see how it goes. Any opinions?

    I like it, except for the fact that it flooded the crap out of the View New Posts. lol But like you said, shouldn't be like that everyday. Very cool though, as soon as I saw it, I knew what you had going on.

      I'm currently debating whether to include adverts for cars in there or if it's gonna be flooded enough already.

            is there any way to just have those come up as threads in a separate section of the forum, and not come up in the new posts?

              Well they are new threads in a separate forum but you mean in the new posts link right? Unfortunately no, I tried looking yesterday to find a way. I dont think we'll have that problem again. Maybe one or two ad's a day, not a whole invasion like that.

                no need to post car ads, captain kurt seems to get to them before anyone else anyway.
