New people on here giving the .02 kinda makes me laugh considering the knowledgeable ones know me in person and know that i ask questions for answers not some johnny come lately with a beat *** Miata that just got the car

plus to hate a car is to hate the driver and well, not may people that know me and the story of my car hate me or my car.

its confusing to many why i choose to stand out. its because im a leader not a follower... and guess what... people are copying the graffiti now so now, with that being done, im switching it up... 1 step ahead of the game, my style is my style i create not copy

my car runs great it handles to my liking (with what little its has been done to the suspension)

its never died its never given me problem (concerns yes but not problems)

and ill be god damned if everywhere i go theres not 1 person that comments, complements, or just all out thinks its THE MOST unique one they have ever seen.


this is a forum for discussion, help, trouble shooting, etc. etc. not bashing and name calling, leave that to I.A. or elementary school.

now I'm not from a motor head family OR had grown up with any motor head friends
IM still learning, and pardon me for asking opinions, questions and options....
If questions were stupid then there would be no knowledge, no progression, no advancement; and if i want to be taken seriously i have to learn from those around me, and build my knowledge through mistakes and dumb ****.... im not afraid to ask "stupid questions" because the next time someone brings it up i can help further that new guys knowledge....

when you see a "stupid post" (I.A. not counting because thats %100 of the topics)
think about where you started.. you weren't born with the knowledge and god damn it don't try and bring someone down in there search for answers... lend a hand walk them through... who knows the guy you help out could be the next F1 driver and i know if i ever go somewhere with this lifestyle ill die before i let everyone that helped me go un-thanked.

theres my $300 worth... now think about that.

I am not sure if answer number 3 or 4 works for me...so I answered passion.
I have been into cars since I was a little fellow. As a kid if not riding a bicycle I was playing with toy cars...whether matchbox or hotwheels (when they were invented) or building plastic models. Never cared for airplanes or boats...just CARS....and trucks too...as my family is in the trucking business.

No one taught me anything...my dad is an idiot with cars, my brother is knowledgeable but older then I so wasnt at home to teach me. I am self taught...WITH the help of making friends with those who are highly knowledgeable...AND asking questions. For the record...I have never posted on m.net or similar a response such as "thats a stupid question" or "do a search" etc to a newbie. EVERYONE was a newbie at some point. Period.

When I bought my first real car I immediately began thinking of ways to 'mod' it..and started working on it as far as possible. It all went from there. Early on I bought an MGB...and god knows you have to work on those CONSTANTLY. That was my baptism. :lol: It went from there to muscle cars and classics....then Corvettes...and ultimately Miatas. I have made my living from cars too...so to me there is no mechanical device of greater interest. :)

My dad's side of my family is where I got it from.
2 of my Uncles are automotive journalists, and their dad was an engineer for Ford.

Ever since I can remember my dad has taken my little brother and I to car shows, races, auctions, etc.
When we are at the dinner table, all we do is talk about cars. My mom and sister get sick of it and start talking about make-up or other girly stuff!

I've been around it my entire life and it's just become a part of me now. If I wasn't into car, I have no idea what I would do with all my time!

rite on! i wish i had that.. but its more the opposite for me. Everyone discusses other things... and just nods when i talk about cars... my moms boy fried (the previous owner of the miata) will chit chat.. but hes bad about bull****ting sometimes so i try to keep the discussions simple. there actually was an argument over motor oil one nite... and i even dropped research into it and he was still rite or so he thought :whistle:

I meant to add that my ultimate dream is to one day own a 240 turd bucket with purple wheels. Only I hope to extend the exhaust at least 4 feet beyond the bumper and have the steering column extended so I can sit in the back seat and drive. But at this point all that is only a dream. ;)
