I Need a job!!!

Hello Miata faithful, I'm now in the second week of unemployment, and Am ready to pull my hair out due to the lack of work. You guys still in collage Take Your Time, it sucks that much out here, and for me it's worse, the racing industry is going down in a less than glorious fashion. I'm asking any one in the professional world do you have leads for employment? anything management, or business development related, hell I'd even go back to outside sales, just let me know, and thank you all.

Yeah full time is hard to find right now.

I do what I can at Road Atlanta, detail a few cars a week which makes pretty good money ($100+ a car), and do eBay sales.

There are some ups in the racing world right now if you want to stay in it I almost have full time work somewhere.

Nothing except no one can afford there products. I mean there suits can cost on the low end $1500, every one else is under cutting them and they cant compete. Then besides all that, the guy that's running every thing @ Road Atlanta (Russell Elrod) has no idea how to run a business, and he's spineless to boot. If you've ever met him you'd know what I'm talking about.

Yeah I agree with what your saying about their pricing. The only guys I saw wearing them was the guys driving 997 cup cars so money was obviously no object anyway.

what sucks even worse is when you get a job offer with a good respectable well paying company, put a notice in your current, ****ty job. and "fail to comply" by not taking the drug test within 48 hours of the job offer. and they take the offer back. thats what happened to me a couple weeks ago, oh and also, my car was totaled that same week. not to mention having to mooch for a ride everywhere. and insurance dicking me on the value of my car. Plus, my back, neck, and tailbone hurt from the accident. and my attorney isnt very confident on a timely and sizable medical settlement.

word of advise, dont count your chickens before they hatch, and if your **** is totaled, take the ride in the ambulance damnit.

Man thta sucks Never give notice just walk They wont give you notice when they fire you.I ve seen respected employees give notice only to be fired right then and there.Its hard but thats the way it goes

1) Don't do drugs while looking for a job

2) Always give notice. Don't burn bridges, you'll regret it.

I think he means he didn't know he had 2 days for the drug test and if he didn't do the test then the job offer was terminted not that he was trying to wait for stuff to get out of his system. Am i correct OP?

Usually if they fire you when you give notice, they owe you the two weeks pay. So you get the time off with pay. If they don't fire you, work the two weeks in good faith. as was said before, don't burn bridges.

ive been unemployed since Dec. 3rd :(
living off tax returns, which was more than enough for a new top, mirrors, intake, and a few other goods...but all went to bills

yeah, ive never done drugs my entire life. never even smoked a cigarette or anything else. i took the drug test a week after the job offer, wasnt really thinking it was going to be an issue. but i was wrong. i didnt worry about it because i knew id pass the test lol... but i put a notice in at the current job *kroger* and worked a week till my car was totaled, didnt show to my last day working becuase of health issues, and found out the next week i didnt get the job offer. so whatever. i guess dog eat dog world. im looking for a part time mechanical engineering internship or part time job with an engineering firm of some sort. even doing paperwork for all i care. i want my foot in the door. none of this sales / retail b/s jobs.

That's actually a bit of a misconception. Georgia is an at-will employment state and they only have to pay you for earned but unused vacation. Other than that, they can fire you and stop paying you at any time with no notice and barely a reason (other than discrimination)
