  • Classic Kevin going on the air soon

So yeah, apparently I'm now a DJ at KSU's Owl Radio. I'll be playing music from the 60s and 70s. From what I've been told so far it'll be a two hour show once a week, probably Monday from 8 to 10 PM. Not sure if it's just streaming online or what, but it should be fun. Any suggestions for little-heard 60s and 70s rock?
Friday nights 7-9 PM, go to www.ksuradio.com and listen to Owl Oldies. Visit our Facebook group for any requests and suggestions. Classic Kevin - 60s and 70s on OWL Radio

:violin:Marshall Tucker, don't get to hear much of that today but it's great driving music. Lynyrd Skynyrd, Greg Alman, Average White Band (Local band but good music). Some Neil Young and Pink Floyd. 60's I can't help you there. Outlaws, Doobie Brothers, and of course the Eagles.
Raised in the South and I love that Southern Rock.:violin:

Where many radio shows go wrong is that they play the same setlist of 'common' hits.
If it was me I'd be looking to play the B side so to speak. Many of the artists have written loads of songs yet we hear the same selections over and over and over.....the classic stations in ATL area are famous for this.
If I owned a radio station any DJ caught playing the Allmans "Ramblin Man" would be terminated on the spot. That song has been played to death!!

For 60's & 70's rock try Mountain, (not just Mississippi Queen) Led Zep from the B side, songs like Thank You or What Is and What Should Never Be hardly get played...and many others....Cream, Sugarloaf, Hendrix, The Who, Styx (other then Come Sail Away and that Mr Roboto garbage) songs like Castle Walls, Man In the Wilderness etc....I'd just be looking at what alot of 60's & 70's artists wrote and search out the many great tunes that dont see much airtime.

Alright guys, first show is tonight at 7, a mere ten minutes from now. If you're bored, go to www.ksuradio.com and click on the Listen Live button. It's not going to be too B-side yet since I haven't had a chance to upload all my library, but the more listeners, the more shows I get to do. Throwing up some Hendrix tonight, should be good.

Apparently a while. It's an online station, not too bad. I stanked it up a bit, but there's always room for improvement.

Plenty of good Rush in the 70s. And then there's Yes, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Al Dimeola, Boston, etc. Yeah, I know, I listen to some weird stuff.

Jesus Christ, YES are fantastic, throw in some Genesis too. Rush are great.
