  • Oem replacement key

    Hi all,

I lost my 2nd OEM key and have only one key + Remote now.
its a 2002 and the key has chip in it and has to be programmed.

local dealers quote about $67 for the key and $80 for programming.

are they are alternatives available ?

    Thanks

Find a locksmith and ask them to do it. My guess is it will run you about $50 a key.

Thank you, I will ask around the locksmith's .
In my search i found that nb2 has an immobilizer chip and the new key will need to be programmed .
if not programmed the key might open doors and trunk but not start the engine.

I wouldn't mind spending the $$ a key costs - to get the Immobilizer deactivated - so I could buy & use $3. keys. Any way you could GLUE the expensive chip key to the immobilizer - then use
        regular keys ???
