Crazy RPM

I have a NA. When the engine is cool, the RPM stays just below 1, which is fine. But after a while, when the engine is hot, the RPM are from 1.5 to 2.5. Shouldn't be the other way around? :(

Your water thermistor may be bad. Also the idle air control valve may be wonky.

but if that was the case, then shouldnt it do that all the time? not just when the engine warms up? right?

nope, the idle air control, or IAC is supposed to close and restrict the air a little once your car warms up.

May be a good time to hit the throttle body with some induction cleaner.
