Temporarily Closing Registrations - Dealing with Spam

I've had to temporarily turn off new registrations as the spam problem is ridiculous. I've opened a ticket with vbulletin asking for some more support as this is a cloud hosted service by them now.

There will be a mass deletion of all spam posts soon - again a feature that vbulletin decided to turn off in their wisdom.

Hopefully we'll be back up and running soon. Apologies for the inconvenience.

  • Favorite mountain run?

What is your favorite North GA mountain road?

I was up there today and reminded myself that 180 wolfpen gap rd is definitely near the top of the charts if not the best. It's almost like an autocross run 2nd gear for a good part of the way, but if you spin say goodbye.

I would like to hear from everyone on this, we may be able to find a hidden gem.

I'll have to let Tommy post on my behalf, I just follow him and enjoy the ride. I do however, love the run up to brasstown bald. My lifters are always talking to me after that one

Wolfpen gap, coming from Lake Windfield Scott is probably the best one. I love the road down brasstown bald, but its way too short, those hairpins are really fun though.

My favorite is the section of 129 heading north from Turner's Corner. The passing lane portions of that stretch are amazing, but it's pretty heavily traveled.

Continuing up highway 60 at Suches, the intersection where most people turn right onto 180, is really really good. They just laid down some new pavement, and there's not usually a whole lot of traffic since staying on 60 takes you off of the standard north Ga "loop". Most of the time we just run a few miles up it until the good curves run out and then double back. It's worth it.

How about Hwy 75 north out of Helen. That one is a really fun and good workout.

It is once the passing lanes open up, but it's miles and miles of nose-to-tail with damned Harley trikes until you get there, lol.

I also agree with 180 and the section of 60 west of 180 all the way to Dial Rd. Yesterday, two of us did a drive through Cherokee county (there are a few good roads), east on 53 to 136 through Jasper, back west and then north up Roy Rd and Doublehead Gap to Newport and Dial Roads. This brings you to 60 and you head east to 180 and then pick up 129/19 South back down to Dahlonega. It was a great drive and the weather was perfect. The leaves were really cool, too. Here are a couple of pics.

Oh, and I have no idea what that 3-wheeled thing is, but he was on us like stink on shiz.

I like the southern half of 348 (Richard Russel), its un both uphill and downhill, pretty fast & smooth

Hwy 197 along lake Seed/Burton is a great road but I always seem to get hung behind some guy pulling a 15 bedroom camper.

Seems like everything is in the same area/same loop. Is there anything good in the northeast or northwest?
