So I'm in Springfield, Missouri at the moment. Rode up here with a friend who's campaigning his car in the 2008 Dynomax Power to the Wheels Dyno Tour finals at the Street Machine Nationals.
Strangely enough, I work with and end up spending more time with the straight line guys than with you guys that I share automotive views with.
It's fun getting to witness and work with this kind of power, though... :D
The purple (yes, Plum Crazy) 'Cuda in the pics belongs to my friend and former co-worker Darren. The orange Dart belongs to another friend of his. They're 1 and 2 in the normally aspirated class so far.
These pics are from today, which was test-n-tune. Tomorrow is the finals.
The 'Cuda is putting out just a hair under 1000hp at the wheels on E85, no power adders whatsoever. It weighs 3600 lbs. and ran a best of 8 seconds flat when it was on nitrous. It's still fully street legal, and pretty damn scary to ride in.
The turbo cars should be creeping over 2000hp tomorrow. The top ones qualified at around 1730hp and at least one of them has showed up to the finals with a bigger engine than before.
Enjoy.
