  • The Mitty/Flyin' Miata Dinner Meet Ideas (April 22)

So each year we have a dinner with Flyin' Miata on the Saturday evening of The Mitty and it's always a great time! We've been to various restaurants, Taco Mac at the Mall of Georgia was usually the most popular, but because they don't take reservations and call aheads became a joke there, it became very difficult to use that location. Last year we went to Golden Corral and it was a LOT better in terms of space and accommodations, but attendance was lower than usual. I know a bunch of people had other evening plans though.

This year, with a little time before the event, we'd like to open this up to suggestions of places we could go. Again, Taco Mac is pretty much a no-go so I'd like to leave that one off the table. Get it, off the table... Yeah, I'm cracking myself up here.

Anyway, feel free to post up suggestions. Please try to consider wait time, table sizes and parking lot sizes/accessibility, we normally number in between 20-30 people and cars. And the guys from FM don't want to be out all night, I don't blame them for as busy as they are during the race.

    Thanks in advance!

Count me in, the orange car should be done by then, so we'll call that the official unveiling of the orange rocketship.

i'm undecided. i don't think the racing is very good, most heat races end up as 4-5 laps of full course yellow parades.

I'll be out this year. What about the new pizza place at the mall of ga? They make fresh fire oven pizza, and have plenty of room.

This is the kind of info I need. Since I live over an hour away I don't get up there often!

Any other ideas? Probably need to start organizing this officially.

There's also a Ted's around that area that's very close to the interstate.

Is beer a requirement? Maybe attendance was lower at Golden Corral since they do not serve adult beverages. I like Marlow's Tavern, but people will have to fight the MoG parking lot.

I'm in, as soon as the place is decided.
I can't eat pizza, but I don't want to rain on the parade, so I'll go where eva!

If mexican is agreeable, The La Parilla over there (oakwood) was good when I lived that way. Little Italy in Gainesville is an awesome pizza place (my favorite) and has a large open patio area. Only downer is I doubt they take reservations, but it would be worth calling.
