  • 2017 Autocross Season Begins! (and more)

The 2017 Autocross season begins in two weeks with the Atlanta Region's double header weekend at Lanier Raceplex:

TEST and TUNE: http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/...ca-solo-912389 (run 'till you drop)

    Points 1: http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/...ta-solo-437790

As always, please share with your friend. Racing is always better with a buddy. Bring a friend of family member out and have a fun Sunday afternoon with other who are enthused about driving (fast ;-).

For those of you who did so last year, we'll be hosting Track Night events at Atlanta Motorsports Park the first Wednesday of each month. Registration will be open later this month for those events and available on www.tracknightinamerica.com

Additionally, for those looking to some other awesome events, we have the following options in our other programs:

Road Rally (a moving car show, family friendly, focus on fun and participation): http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/...atlanta-208919
Rallycross (racing in the dirt): http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/...ntation-872037
Club Racing and HPDE (want to drive on Road Atlanta, look here): http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/...-racing-646250 (hint: looking to just do casual laps? look for the "PDX" entry)

For those looking do the entire autocross season, check out this link (hint: this saves you a lot of money): http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/...ca-solo-591602

Question: It's been awhile for me (years) and I may be coming out for points 1 with my dad and it will be his first autocross. Will co-driving be an issue with him in novice and me in stock (street?)? If the logistics will be better I can just drive my own car, but I'd prefer to co-drive his if possible (because m2). Even if it means me running TO.

Great event last weekend, next one coming up is AutoXAtlanta at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce. Hope to see some of you out there!

Can someone share a bit of info on the PDX events mentioned above? I've been wanting to get into track days, after a year of autocross, and think this may be a good segway... seems like kind of a 'light track day'

It's exactly that... the PDX at Road Atlanta during club race weekends are run from 10am - 12pm. You get two 20 minute sessions for $100. There's some basic classroom info for a drivers meeting and new drivers can get some instruction. It's a great way to get started driving on one of the coolest tracks in America. You can still sign-up on-site if you want. If not, then we'll be across the street Sunday morning also :)

Sounds like the perfect segway into track days. online registration says its closed, but if i can sign up on site, i may mosey on over there saturday morning.

I raced solo event 1 a couple weeks ago, but im on the fence for this weekend. on one hand, driving in the rain sounds like a ton of fun. on the other hand, working in the rain, and the hour long drive back soaking wet dont sound as fun
