  • Idle problem

Doesnt really idle rough, just every couple minutes at idle it kinda...bumps. RPMs barely drop, but the Car bumps. I can feel it. Any suggestions?

Oh, And when it rains my trunk gets wet on the inside, but the rubber gasket on the trunk is fine, any suggestions on that?
Kinda inherited the car from my Grandfather. Its a love hate relationship. lol

Does it have a trunk rack? The bolts holding it in have nuts in the trunk lid, and they have a rubber casing/seal, sometimes they come lose or fall out, i experienced this.

No idea on the idle thing, sorry man.

On your motor close to the throttle body there is a little hole with a screw in the end of it and it controls that idle dip just play with it until you get it to stop doing that, couple of days with mixed driving and you'll be set. My car was really bad about it when I first bought it.
'95 w/ now finished '99 swap, kyb agx's, flyin miata springs, sway bars, roll bar and more to come...sigpic

          Last time plugs/wires were replaced??

On the wet trunk, most likely your rain rail is cracked and/or plugged up with crap.
98% of the time wet trunks = rain rail/drain issues

my car did the same things. i never fixed the trunk leak because my other rain rail got bush hogged lol, but the idle problem was a TINY vac leak. it was somewhere near the charcoal can, but i dont remember which line.

And...just be glad you dont drive an POS E30 with effed up wiring and a semi dead battery that requires constant jumping...like some people...*cough*jesseeee*cough*
Things could be much worse!! LOL... :D

A vacuum leak can cause very annoying problems, and on occasion fool a fellow.

I bought a Miata that had a bunch of parts thrown at it, and had been to a shop, all without success...and it fooled me for about 45 minutes too. Ended up finding a small hole
in the intake tract in an obscure previously unnoticed spot.

im actually thinking about trading the e30 for the silver car that is on CL and IA. the mileage freaks me out though.

I'd trade the E30 beater for almost any Miata....but youre right, that one looks a bit beat....but so did your last one, and it ran and started.
Actually a clean E30 could be a fun car.

it runs and starts fine now. i just swapped the battery from my parts car in and its perfect now. all thats left to do is get my bumper on and figure out why the dash lights dont work. and maybe quiet it down some... lol

I still say keep the E30, cooler cars then Miatas.

And you all don't know **** about wiring problems until you own a 240.

                            Fixed for truth.
I've wired complete harnesses for both cars, the 240 was by far an easier task to complete.
