try not to be super miata biased in this either. im not biased towards either car, but i like the power of the e30 plus having a place to put stuff. but i think with some love the miata could be worth ALOT more, plus i miss the gas mileage.

It's a good price for an R package/running car in general. How many more problems do you forsee for your e30? I like Miata's and E30's but would lean towards Miatas (no **** :lol:) but if you have the better car. Then I wouldn't do it.

I don't know enough about your car to make a good judgement. If both were equal I would take the Mazda but there's not much in it. The 94R would be fun as **** to drive and abuse though.

So you've been looking at Jacob's car ,eh? It's not a bad car that needs some TLC. The milage doesn't bother me about that car..I drove it, it feels fine. Though it wouldn't hurt to replace the control arm bushings and give the car a thorough cleaning.

What model E30 is it? My buddy was looking at a 325is, and the MPG on that thing is horrible. That aspect alone would make me lean towards the Miata.

Plus, I bet the Miata is faster. (also depends on what model of E30 we're talking about)

22 city/27 hwy? thats not horrible by any means.

and FASTER?!?! LOL not without boost or some SERIOUS n/a mods. 325i's make close to 170/170 with just exhaust/intake, and an msd ignition.

Sorry, I was looking at a '89 325is, and according to fueleconomy.gov it only gets 16/22. That's why I was asking for more specifics on yours.

Stock vs stock, which car is faster? I know NBs are supposed to run high 15s from the factory. I assume the BMW would be similar.

The E30 325is runs mid 15s. So the difference is negligible.

I personally would fix up the E30. Miatas are cool, but small, no power, and becoming the new Civic.

325is would. I highly doubt the others would. But even so, I don't think the difference would be THAT huge.

And I still don't think there is a new civic yet. The civic still seems to dominate that market, with a little bit of 240sx in there too.

Jesse's car is pretty quick. The old engine that was in it was actually fast. FAR faster then any stock Miata I have ever ridden in. I mean, 2.5 inline 6 versus little 4 cylinder...lol. The Civic and 240 are the new thing, but Miatas are quickly growing, many 240 owners now want Miatas for mAd tgYgHT doriift0 y0.

I think that'll pass. Either way they're both fun cars. But one can take the top off, which is a big plus in my books.
