  • exactly how fast is the NC

im just curious, about this car? it apparently has more hp than my NB. im trying to post w/o sounding like a kill thread, but last night we did a quick run from a stop. (never broke 60mph as i had to get on the interstate) . anyhow i was just sitting there admiring and he apparently thought it was a challenge, and took off...so i had a slight delay but had him by at least 2 lengths when i slowed down for the interstate? it was a manual as i heard the rev limiter and 2nd chirp tires. as far as i know mine has just an intake. any info would be appreciated.

stock for stock, a nc is a hair faster than a nb - but the advantage is slight enough to easily make the driver the deciding factor.

          2002 Miata curb weight = 2387
2002 SE with a turbo kit, roll bar, full tank of gas, bigger sway bars, extra chassis bracing and 17" wheels = 2501 (according to SCCA scales)
          2005 MX5 GT = 2498

The NC is not a bad driving car by any means. The 2.0L provides good power and tq that's very noticable after driving any n/a NB Miata. The suspension is a bit squishy to me (but then again, i've never had a Miata with stock suspension). I wouldn't mind having a winning blue NC with the sport package suspension, LSD, 6spd, appearance package and some nice wheels. I big plus to the NC is the ability to run huge wide tires with no problems.

I think the NC is going to be a really good mod platform. Wide tyres, stiffen it up, add more power, kickass front end, and all of a sudden it's a different animal.

Those pictures you found Mike have really turned me on to them. I had no idea they could look so mean.

Top Gear did NA vs NC, NC won barely because of better brakes.
