Looking for opinions on what struts to get for stock springs on a 99. Not looking to get new springs. Mostly for spirited driving. I only autocross once or twice a year so that is not a priority.

RE: Struts for stock springs
You have two great options here :
1) get a set of Koni yellows. They have 3 setting on the spring perch that allows you to have the car at stock height and about .5" lower and the shocks are adjustable. Having the spring perch set a little lower on the shock does not effect spring rate or ride quality.
2) Get the suspension of a NB with "sport suspension". They have a slightly lower ride, slightly stiffer springs and nice Bilstein shocks.
Both options will improve handling over a stock setup and won't comprimise your ability to drive the car around on Atlanta streets (i.e. scraping speed bumps, sharp driveways etc...) Either option shouldn't cost more than $500, IIRC a new set of Konis is ~$450 and i've seen used sport suspensions go for $150-$300.

i was looking to do the same thing because i think my shocks are going but the more i look at it for an extra $100 you can get springs too. yes it will scrap over bumps more but even when the car is a daily driver and mine is, its still a toy at heart so why not get springs too.1999 10th AE # 5620, Mods: It's Stock..ish.sigpic

RE: Struts for stock springs
Sawyer is selling a set of Eibach springs if your interested. It'll lower the car about 1.3" which isn't too extreme but gives the car a lot better appearance. Just an option to consider to go along with your new struts.
Oh and Koni FTW! :D

RE: Struts for stock springs
+1 on the Koni yellows w/ stock springs,I'm thrilled with this set up on my car
I put a set of the Koni STRt's on the wife's car this weekend and for the money they seem to be excellent choice for a DD a bit firmer than stock and a whole lot better than factory shocks with 200K on them

Another option is the NB sport package ("hard") suspension bilsteins. I have an assembled set with the stiffer springs still on them for $375. Bolt on and go. That would probably be a legal move to make in your class, since it's from a different package car from the same year.DIYAutoTune.com
