  • Defroster circuit question

I have a question about the defroster circuit. It it on a timed relay? I am finding mixed answers about this and am spreading the net to find out.

I want to connect my cool shirt pump to that circuit out of convenience and location.

    Thanks for looking!

Some clarity - NA8 the switch input goes to the ECU which triggers the relay. NA6 looks like it has a dedicated timer on the control side, but the relay is just a normal relay.
When I went megasquirt on my NA8, I put in a volvo timer relay from the junkyard.

Excellent information! Thanks so much! I have an NA6. I'll have to see if I can find the time length. I figure between pre-grid, session, and cool down, about 25-40 minutes.

Volvo is 5 minutes, which is somewhat universal iirc.
