    This was an initial run. Notice the funky a/f ratio.

    After doing some tuning, and finally hooking up a fuel pressure gauge, we determined my stock fuel pump was not adaquate. I have a 190lph Warlbro on order. Funny thing is I called Flyin Miata and specifically asked, will my stock fuel pump be okay, and they responded yes. Oh well, obviously it's not, and I'll replace it and be getting more tuning done March 27th, the next avail tuning date at Balanced Performance. (They have some important races coming up which really clogged their schedule)

    This was starting off with 12 psi, we'll add more psi next tuning session. Also he let off due to the leaning out as we got higher in the rpms. So expect better figures next time.

            sugar hill is my neck of the woods, you should have called me to say you were up this way.

            I always recommend the 190lph hp to any modified NA. The stock pump doesn't keep pressure up as RPM climbs.

            Don't sweat too much about a slightly rich A/F ratio. A/F is only a tiny tiny part of making power. Maybe you could have picked up a couple extra ft lbs at your tq peak but that's it.

            You're also using old *** injectors. Better injectors will provide better economy and power as they atomize fuel more efficiently.

            I honestly wouldn't spend any money on tuning until you've got the pump and injectors installed.

              Aww, I thought I had posted it, I'll be up there again March 27th around 1pm to let ya know.

              The injectors were doing well, it's just the pump couldnt keep up with the demand.

                Of course.
                There's a reason why I went from RX7 to RC injectors in my car. If you want your car to drive a bit nicer, pass the tail sniffer easier, pick up a couple of MPG's, and make better power, then you'll do the same.

                  I'm with Ben here; I borrowed his NB injectors while I ran wastegate pressure and until I sourced/cleaned bigger ones, and can say that the newer injectors are great. I tried like hell to find some RX8 injectors, but settled on old RX7 injectors. Oh well, someday...

                    One thing to consider, is that if the fuel pump is original, it's pretty old, and may not be putting out what it's supposed to. Same thing happened with my Mirage...while the OEM one should have been sufficient, it was just plain old and not making enough output. So there's a 255lph in my Mirage's future!

                          I forgot about that. Yeah I was really impressed at what a good job those little injectors did. I also had them on my car with an FMU for a short time; I guess that was before you used them. I've tried so many different kinds of injectors on my car, I don't really remember some of the specifics anymore.

                          It's a better investment for you than dyno tuning at this point! Not to say that you shouldn't ever tune spark on the dyno, that's pretty baller too. :banana:

                            I was advised my stock fuel pressure regulator was good to use. Recommendations?

                              If the old one is 100% functional (diaphram not ripped) then I wouldn't deal with replacing it.
