  • The 'unusual, old, and/or weird cars I have owned" thread

As stated in another thread, I should have kept a photo diary of cars...but its too late, so instead here are pics of same or similar that have gone through my hands. Feel free to add yours or comments.

1956 Thunderbird - mine was white w/red interior, continental kit, and porthole hardtop like this one....

1956 Chevy Belair convertible - the one I had was white with black/whit interior, and 265 with Powerglide

1970 Dodge Charger RT-SE, 440 magnum, 727 torqueflight, same color as this one except mine had Magnum 500 wheels instead of the Rallyes.

May daily driver for several years, a RR1 Maroon over maroon 68 Coronet R/T just like this one only mine had no vinyl top. I should have never sold it...I loved that car.

    more to come....

1962 Thunderbird Roadster. 390 w/Ford Crapomatic. Very unusual and kinda cool car BUT a total piece of **** and nightmare to keep on the road.

The only unusual car I had I have no digital pictures of (can't even find a picture that represents the car well) was my 1991 Mazda RX7 convertible. We swapped a complete TurboII front clip into it, RHD and everything. Only Japan got the TurboII 'verts, and since it was RHD, everyone thought it was imported.

We had a black over red 61 Chevy Impala SS with 409, w/4 speed one of 140+ built...however, the engine had been stolen so it had a built 283 and later a 327 installed.

One car I had alot of fun in was a 1970 Chevelle SS w/ 375hp L78 396 like this one...

          Heres a 91 vert...probably not the same. ;)

And, if youre looking for weird pics, try a 1980 Plymouth Volare Premier!

                ^I know, right. Nice cars.

I totally suck at this thread. The oldest car I've ever owned was a 95. lol
2005 Black Mica Mazdaspeed MX-5 - FM Intake - Enthuza Midpipe and Exhaust - FM DP - Hallman MBC - Upgraded Intercooler - Hard Dog Roll Bar - Volk TE37 - and then some...

                  ive had 2 unusual cars.

one was a 1996 acura SLX that was lifted 2 inches and had 33 inch mud terrains on it. i dont have any pics but here is a stock photo for reference lol.

its basically a 2nd gen trooper with some nicer options. 4x4, lsd f/r, 3 link rear end with a panhard and coil springs. it had INSANE amounts or suspension travel in the rear, and a surprising amount in the front for an ifs vehicle.

the second one was a 1995 ford aspire. bought it for 750 bucks with only 78k miles on it. i rear ended someone leaving school the 3rd day i had it, and the only hood i could find was red. it was a goofy car, the slowest car i think ive ever driven, but it was unbelievably fun. 5 speed, manual windows, a mazda b3 engine that made 63 hp at the crank... lol. i cut the muffler off so it was a little louder than normal, but not ear splittingly loud like the bmw. this car went through hell. mudding, jumping, hitting all kinds of stuff (99% of the time intentionally), i had it on its side at one point. i miss being able to hop curbs and not having to worry about anything. i used to go to high school football games and park in spots that only jeeps and lifted trucks could get to previously, and when i would leave i would literally drive through the woods at the back of dacula park and onto a backroad to avoid traffic. ahh, the good ole days. i miss the car alot. i saw in on CL for sale not long ago.

                    See sig...

...as for regular cars, I had a 87 CRX HF that made a Miatas weight seem like Titanic, weighing under 2000lbs stock ftw. (Weighed less then 1800lbs STOCK, and got 57MPG LOL)

56 Dodge Royal Lancer, (as previously discussed) I am having trouble finding a pic of one the same color combo. The one I had was a mauve color with black & white 3 tone exterior, with black & white interior.

                      1960 Chevy El Camino

I had one of these in black...89 Probe GT 2.2 turbo (Mazda engine)
Very strong running and under rated car IMHO
I would buy one now if I found a clean unmolested example.
