  • New Project: caseyfoster and JoshP Salvagewon Eliminator Build!

As people have been seeing lately with the ghetto-cets, eliminators and exocets, there is a lot of fun to be had from simply getting all the weight off of the miata. So myself and JoshP are making one, you can follow most of the build on my Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ilovecars_tv

Picked up a decent 1997 donor from craigslist a week or so ago!

    Done:
    Tein Flex Z coilovers
    FM stainless steel brake lines
    Kirkey aluminum race seat

    Already Had:
    Front sway bar
    Adjustable endlinks
    Removable steering wheel

    Plans:
    Brakes
    15x8s
    Remove all weight
    Spec miata cage/eliminator

Would like to get it down to about 1700-1800lbs

    The car

First things first are getting rid of old broken NRG seats that were in it and get some nice lightweight seats so it can be driven as we weren't able to drive the car easily as they were stuck in the forward position.

Picked up some NB 15x6s, had the wheels soda blasted to get off the chipping factory paint

Installed the flying miata stainless steel brake lines and fluid flush

Installed the Tein Flex Z coilovers

    Progress shot

We may end up doing a few track days in stock miata form (no body panels or weight removed) in the meantime while we determine the route of either doing a ghettocet, spec miata cage, or an eliminator.

Next up is grabbing the bolt in cage from a member here so we can hit the track and a nice wheel setup.

Been doing some basic weight reduction and prepping for the install of the cage.

Wheels and tires are on the way!

          225/45/15 NT01s

Next picture should have the cage in and on the new wheels, then probably grab an alignment from GTE and get everything dialed in!

Apparently like $100 in baking soda was used per wheel lol, thankfully it was free for us!

Nice! Man those will look good on this car. And the NT01s will provide plenty of grip!

Finally got some time to work on the car.

Went ahead and had GTE mount and balance the new wheel setup.

Proceeded to remove everything in preparation to drop the car off at salvagwon to start the eliminator process.

---shameless plug, everything taken off the car is for sale! ---

                              Removed:
                              - Front bumper
                              - AC and lines
                              - PS and lines
                              - Windshield wipers and motors
                              - Headlights and motors
                              - Some emissions stuff
                              - Some small knickknacks :)

Next on the list for removal
                              - Quarter panels
                              - Doors and wiring
                              - Trunk
                              - Rear bumper
