I hate people who feel the need to do this "I have over $20k invested in my car" bullcrap..... like they're cutting some great deal and people who advertise those crappy stylebars as "roll bars". That car would look better with different side skirts and dump those eBay fake "mazdaspeed" seats.

Wait, they changed out the cluster and now it reads lower miles? I was under the impression that the mileage was stored in the ECU and that the digital display displayed that.

Nope.

Think about it, if you were to install a ECU from another car, would you expect the miles to differ on your cluster? I wouldnt'...

Yes, I changed the ECU on a few Saturns when we did automatic to manual transmission swaps. The mileage information was stored in the ECU, so the digital display did change.

I've never heard of that. With my previous BMW's, if there was a new cluster was needed, you'd have to take the cluster itself to a dealership to get it programmed.
