$100 Carbon Fiber NB hood...

Click on my sig and you'll see my Carbon hood. I got it from a local spec miata mechanic for $100 brand new. I really liked the way it looked but it weighed almost twice as much as the stock aluminum hood. I put it on for car shows sometimes but it mostly just sits in my garage, if you got a hundred bucks it's yours. I still really like the way it looked on. Call it ricer if you want but I'm pretty sure Miatas are Japanese.

Must be fake carbon fiber or overlay of steel hood or something. Real carbon fiber would weigh about the same.

I had a DGMotorsports carbon hood on my 99... it was OK...heavier than stock by a couple of pounds...it liked to dance around at hihway speeds.

But for $100...who knows how much of a rip shipping would be, i'd get it and hack it up for a track hood....

Damn....a buddy of mine lives in Houston, too. But I still dunno how I'd get it from Houston to here. Last time I bought a hood...I removed my 240's hood, then drove to JHOT (15min drive) hoodless, and installed the new one there. I don'y think it'd be a good idea to drive to TX without a hood. And I'm definitely not leaving my stock hood there!

The only time I'd spend money on a hood is if it were dry carbon.

I don't think anyone has a dry carbon hood for a Miata that's a production piece. IIRC Axis Power Racing has a nice carbon hood that was lighter than stock, but it was like $1200.


I wonder if JHOT will import special requests... like new tires from overseas....

I have some NB mirrors...but I think I may only have the driver side.
Theyre very easy to paint though if you find some.
