[Wanted] Wanted Sub $3000 Daily Driver that Doesn't Suck

2. Sadly, this needs to be an automatic

The current top contender is a 2003 protege 5 that used to be mine, but has belonged to my brother in law since 2008, and now needs a bunch of deferred maintenance.

mileage doesn't really matter as long as we agree it will last for a few years. Bonus points for recent work that I don't have to pay for!

Cars or trucks are acceptable. 1997 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Editions are NEVER acceptable.
