  • more neat parts

Some more neat-o things I won't be able to use with the new car. Prices assume cash and pickup.

TunerToys huge dual feed fuel rail for 1.6 SOLD
Really nice looking piece. I never did get around to installing it, so it is brand slam new. I believe these were something like $115 shipped new on introductory special and $130 regularly(?). $80 SOLD

Aluminum differential housing for 1.8 diff
This is the rear housing with the "ears" that typically crack apart when involved in an accident. Everybody who is involved in motorsports or drives their miata hard should have an extra one in their garage. Brutally expensive new and getting harder and harder to find used. $75.

    Black powdercoated 1.8 cam cover
94-97 1.8 cover. Front cover is cut off to expose cam gears. Raised letters are not polished. I got this as a "dyno day" cam cover so that I could adjust cam timing easily with my car on the rollers once I had the new engine in my 91. Not going to work with my 99 as with the cut off front section there is no provision for holding the cam sensor (it's on the front of the intake cam 99-00). You probably could make some sort of bracket if you had a 99-00 and felt so inclined, but I do not. I'm just going to powdercoat a 99 cover.
    $75

    02 6-speed transmission SOLD
I got this through a trade deal. Came from a clean, low miles car that looked pretty nicely maintained.
*The guy who had the car it came from said that 1st did not work but 2-6 and reverse are all perfect.* I did not drive on this transmission to verify. I've never seen nor heard of a 6-spd failure in such a manner. The problems inside may be minor, may be major. I don't know; I've not opened it. So I will call this one a rebuildable core. The last 6-spd that came in like this was absolutely perfect when broken down. However I am making no claims, promises, guarantees or warranties. Expect to have to do something.
I do not have the shifter unfortunately, but luckily they are pretty inexpensive even new.
I'm looking for $250 for this.
*You can download the complete official Mazda 6-speed Service Guide from miata.net garage or miataturbo.net!*SOLD

I'll probably have pictures of this stuff, plus more stuff later today.

    90-97 black top boot
Missing 2 tennex fasteners, but otherwise looks pretty nice. All snaps are intact and the boot is clean and without tears or defects. I got this one as a spare to cut and fit for a rollbar, but never used it. Replace the 2 tennexes, or just use snaps or velcro, or maybe even do nothing and use it as is.
Good boots are going for $100+ these days. I'd like $30 in light of the 2 missing fasteners.

    1.6 Cam Cover
Cover is cut for exposed cam gears and powdercoated in a silver vein. Looks cool. Includes matching front and rear water necks. However, I will require your stock front and rear necks back. Do not need your original cam cover. $100 + your original water necks for all 3 matching pieces.

I tried to download the manual you directed me to, however, the websites they used to host the file on mt.net and m.net are blocked here at work. Guess I will have to look at it later. :(
Still think I'm going to get it though. It'll give me something to work on.

We can mess with it when we get back from our Texas endeavour, but something tells me you're going to be too distracted by something new and blue.
I'm going to print the guide out on the laser here at work at some point.

                        a heads-up on that transmission...

Look on m.net for the symptoms of someone pulling one of the plugs out that holds a pin in place. It's actually happened many times when someone has attempted a transmission flush/drain n full on the 6-speeds and taken the wrong thing off thinking it's the proper fill plug and goofs up the transmission. IIRC the fix isn't very difficult and it sounds kinda like what was described.

you're almost right, when people pull the wrong "plug" it drops the shift rod for 5th into the oil pan. this one is missing 1st.
the previous owner said that 1st just isn't there. so pretty similar sounding issue, just with a different gear.

all the parts inside the trans are cheap, just the labor part of it sucks. but having the factory's official service guide with real pics is a huge help. now that the trans no longer belongs to me, I am terribly tempted to go to the garage and rip it open. funny how that same motivation wasn't there 24 hours ago.
