  • Want to trade stock parts for turbo parts?

I'm planning to swap my NB from turbo to NA. Want to trade?

What I have is an AVO Stage 2 turbo system for 99-00 NB's - most of the components will work with any 1.8L. Included:

Garrett T28 turbo (8 years old, 40K miles)
    Link piggyback ECU
Intake horn with 5th injector, intercooler, aluminium/silicone IC hoses & connectors
    AVO Blow off valve
    Braided stainless oil lines
    Down pipe
Cusom made Enthuza 2 1/2" stainless exhaust w/ high-flow cat
Not Included (more accurately, broken): AVO exhaust manifold

    What I need:
    Stock NB intake system
    Stock NB exhaust system
    NB transmission
Assistance swapping & installing the parts

I'm assuming there is cash involved? Not for me but I thought I would ask for those that are interested.

Turbo kit details available on the AVO web site:
      http://www.avoturboworld.com/avoshop/product_info.php?cPath=215_5_154_157_161&products_ id=215

Cash is negotiable and depends on the condition of the trans and amount of assistance lended to the install.

If my g/f's dad would let me turbo her '00, I'd be all over this. Unfortunately, he doesn't want her to have more than a JRSC.

I'm surprised he even knows what a JRSC is.

Let's just say that he knows cars better than most (maybe not all) of everyone on here combined.

I would do this in a heartbeat if I had a tranny laying around. (wow, that sounded dirty)

I would also gladly help with the swap. PM me with your $, if I found a tranny.

With the turbo having ~40k miles on it, how much shaft play is there?

If it's ball bearing, it should have the minimal movement they do, other than that, those suckers should outlast the life of the car.

                        I've seen them fail before.

Oh, so have I. That's why I said should, if they're taken care of properly, the chances of them failing go way down. YMMV of course.
