  • Triumph Spitfire

My manager's dad gave me his 1969 Spitfire. Its waaaaaay beyond my sklls to fix and I'm gonna part it out. If anyone knows or wants some parts, lemme know. Its a 1300 motor with 7000 miles on the motor. Engine is built and blueprinted according to the guy who gave it to me. It hasen't run since 1978, but the engine can be urned over by hand. If this is in the wrong section then please move it.[hr]Alrighty guys. Finally got to posting pics. Like I said, its not pretty, but its there. The tail light lenses are missing in these pics. I took them off to clean them up a bit. If anyone wants to see it one day, I'moff tomorrow.

I should know better but my addiction is showing and I have a good sized pile of Spit/GT6 parts, maybe 1 big pile would be better than several small ones..I need another Spitfire like I need to have my face burned off but...

    Ugh..

    Pics? Price ? Location?

        RE: Triumph Spitfire

The car is sitting behind my last job. The car itself is past restoring in my opinion, there is a lot of rust underneath and the floorboards are gone. The engine according to the last owner in fully built and blueprinted and has 7000 miles on it. II can turn it over by hand, so I know its not seized up. The gearbox seems good, atleast it goes through the gears. Its been parked since 1978 in this guys back yar4d with no cover >_< All the important stuff is there though. I would upload pics, but I just moved to Alpharetta and can't find my camera. That and my PS3 won't recognize it, but I'll post some up soon. Price is something I haven't thought about. I know its a 1300cc motor that made about 115 hp when it ran. The car is missing its right rear axle. A friend of thee previous owner was gonna get a new bearing put in it and never brought the part back. That's why the car has been sitting. Gimme a few days to find my camera and upload pics to show ya' the shape its in. Sorry for the long post :p

              RE: Triumph Spitfire

The plate is no longer on the car :( My friend who helped me move the car took it for his collection. If it we're still there you could definately have it. The trunklid as you guys can see is rusted, as well as the floor of the trunck. The insides of the rear quarter panels and inside the doors however looks good. The only bit of trim missing is the "R" in Triumph on the nose :3 I even heve the dash badge in my room :p The wiring, atleast to the headlights is good. They come on XD

Its definately rough. Im just hoping to sell it by October. If I could get $600 - $800 for it I would be happy.
