Georgia has the best roads of any state in the nation. Sadly this means most roads lack curves. It would be nice to have a forum listing noteworthy roads that provide nice scenery, curves or anything else a Miata owner might enjoy.

Im not going to disagree that NC has good smooth roads, but when it comes to curves. GA all the way. speaking of pike county, flat shoals road is noteworthy. its got hard double apex corners and maybe like 2 miles straight. you could max your cars speed, and then test it in the curves...
in senoia, near blackjack theres a hard right, and if you keep going and turn onto the first paved road on the right, Al Roberts rd, it has 2nd and 3rd gear haulin corners. you could easily lose it and eat a few trees... or the grill of another car.. Also, in senoia, off gordon rd.. if your comin from 16, 54 south. turn right on gordon rd and the first right, called moore rd. it has very dificult ESSES...

Georgia does has some great roads, a couple of my favorites are in GA, 129 - Blood Mountain
180 60 Warwoman Rd HOWEVER NC has Tail of the Dragon - one of THE best roads in the US (so long as you go during the week, on the weekends it is one of THE worst) Cherohala Skyway - one of THE best roads in the US Blue Ridge PKWY - one of THE best roads in the US HWY 28 HWY 64 215 281 The list can go on and on and those listed trump any road in GA, IMHO ![]() Disclaimer, if a road only has a mile or so of twisties or "one section" I don't count it, because personally Im not going to drive out of my way to a strip of roadway for only 2min of giggling fun. The great thing about NC, the roads go on for thousands of miles leaving you exhausted at the end of a day.

I think my favorite is 64 east towards pisgah. There is a section of narrow road with huge drop-offs that has a tarmac rally stage feel. Wouldn't wanna make a mistake there though.

I will swear by any of those roads in NC. If anyone wants I'd be happy to build a route, give me a total amount of miles you are willing to cover and I can hook that up. Typically I aim for 400 miles. I would love to organize a run and go myself but I'm unemployed and just can't spend the money.

Got down to Senoia and found Gordon Rd, nice drive. Al Roberts was barricaded and we missed Moore road but found a short twisty road named Glazier. All in all a fun drive. Thanks for the suggestions FenderFlaired.

Off of 285 between 400 and 75 you'll see Riverside Drive. It goes through an affluent residential area north of 285 and is well traveled (hint: don't raise hell on this road unless you want to spend a night in a non affluent jail cell ). It has great curves and scenery. The next main road is Johnson Ferry and I haven't traveled it beyond JF but if you are up that way and notice it take the drive you won't be disappointed.
