Thread: Anyone here swap a NB rack and subframe into an NA and retained power steering?

Default Anyone here swap a NB rack and subframe into an NA and retained power steering?

Iím currently in the process of swapping a NB subframe into my 97. I have the subframe and steering rack, and intend to keep power steering. Iím posting to see if anyone has done the same, and could tell me what they used to connect the power steering from the pump to the NB rack. Would I need to use the lines from an NB? Possibly an NB pump as well?

    Thanks

Use the full NB pump and call it done.

Yeah, easy button is to swap the whole thing, lines and all IMO.
Alternately: depower the rack and make it awesome

Local buddy of mine swapped an NB front sub into his NA, he bought the PS pump and lines to go with it.

Silly question: why swap the rack (and subframe)? Is the NB rack a quicker ratio? i've been looking for detail on that and everything I've read shows the manuals and power steering racks to be equivalent between the 2 generations, but all that stuff's been on the internet, so who knows how correct it is.

NB sub has a revised (improved) geometry. Have to swap racks with the subframe because the mounting for it is completely different.

Right, the geometry is better, but it seemed like the focus was on the rack...maybe I just read more into that than there was.
