Default Atlanta Region SCCA Autocross Points 1 (Feb. 19)

    Registration:
    http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/...ta-solo-437790

Points 1 - Sunday, February 19th at Lanier Raceplex!

Until further notice we will be running on a three-heat format. Each class will be placed into Heat A, B, or C. Attempts will be made to keep the same classes running together throughout the season, but some classes may need to shift to help balance the numbers in the three heats. Which heat runs at what point during the day will rotate throughout the season, so that everyone will have equal time running first, working first, and resting first. Please pay attention to the Heat assignments that are posted at Registration.

    Schedule

    7:30 Gates open
8:00 Registration / Work assignment opens
    8:15 Tech opens
    8:15 Novice Orientation meeting begins
    8:30 Course open for walking
    9:30 Tech and Registration close
9:30 Course Closed for walking – No more new walks to start
    9:45 Driver’s Meeting
    9:50 Heat A Worker Check-in

Crap, Sundays don't work as well for me. Would I need things like a helmet?

We have loaners. Fine in the winter, but they get...a bit gamey in the summer

Would those standards be the same for rally cross?

I honestly am not sure. I'll try and remember to look at the rulebook this evening.

Is there still room left in the Novice class or are the 20 slots already reserved?

Done! Never done anything organized like this before so I have every expectation of falling all over myself.

You can always cancel, or carry the registration to the next event.

It is a great thing, but I expect it has cost me $100K plus along the way. It is a legal addiction. Enjoy!

It was fun out there! We learned that on a track, I go 5/10ths vs on the mountains I've gone 8/10s.

I also go slower with an instructor lol ( mostly because I conditioned myself that hey, passenger, be safe! )

Either that, or your 5/10ths feels like 8/10ths in the mountains because of trees / rocks / guardrails / school busses full of nuns and children.

Which isn't a bad thing. If you want to push hard in the mountains, hill climb is a thing that exists...much in the same way that heroin is a thing that exists
