There also at least $30 cheaper there than I've been able to find online, so when I'm ready to rip apart the doors again I'm going to pick some up.

This is them here - they hit down to 40Hz!

very nice! i'll have to check those out at some point. i'd love to change the speakers in my msm but thats all bose (minus the head unit which is actually the same one you went with) so i know it would require pretty much ripping out everything and running new wires so its just been pushed back to deal with for now.

I hear you. Running wires through the doors is a massive pain, especially on the passenger side the blower assembly has to be removed.

What I do is cut the connectors off on the speaker side, duct tape the new wires to the old ones and pull them through from the inside. Since the polls don't have crossovers, I may have to do it again! Waaaah! Lol

I used Polks in my e30 at stock locations/sizing. I had factory tweeters on door. Tied it together with a model-specific low profile Alpine 8" sub and Alpine amp. It was one of my favorite systems I've put together. The Polks are also in my NA with a tiny Kenwood marine amp. On my wife's NB, I bypassed all the Bose garbage and use 8" coax in the doors and replacement tweeters powered by a an amp and media player HU. Very crisp lows and fidelity with the top down.

Running wires through the doors is a bit fiddly, but worth the trouble. The wire quality on the Mazdas products is OK at best, but a little slim for higher power.

Had to have the car towed home last week since an alternator failure left me on the side of the road. I had my tablet in the car and always thought the MS3 voltage just read a little low since it was always been around 12v.. I was wrong, as it turns out the alternator was just weak as hell. Swapped it out Friday, It cranks out a steady 14v now, enough to throw off my tune. I need to retune the entire fuel map now, especially since I haven't gotten it back to dead on since I swapped the air intake. It's a shame because it was almost perfect... as a plus side, I no longer have the occasional stall with A/C on, which I assumed was because the car makes so little power at idle.

I got left on the side of the road on the way home AGAIN!

Last week I was driving home from work and the car just died... zero RPM while cranking. Plugged in tuner studio and checked composite log - no signal from the CAS at all. Theo on here came to the rescue and mailed me a replacement fast - even before I had sent payment. Swapped it in, verified base timing and the car fired right up!

Today I found another config error in the MSPNP PRO base map.. so it's nearly 90 degrees out, I've got A/C on full blast and stuck in traffic for an hour, and even though the factory coolant gauge never moved, I was creeping up past 220 degrees. Turning off AC brought it down enough. When I got home I found the second fan was not running at all. According to the doc it is wired to injector I but the output was off. I set it to turn on <185 degrees and it fired right up. The other config issue was the VSS input.

Well that sucks. Most of what you said, is like Chinese to me(compliment). Went through some of this build thread, amazing. I am looking for good condition LE seats, LE dash, maybe the carpet, nardi leather shift knob.

Thank you... and Good luck hunting LE parts! In all my hunting I never did find a decent condition nardi knob. All were beat and wanted an insane price. The leather on them is really thin. I run an RX-8 knob and I love it.

I've been driving a lot, and tuning my A$$ off.

I've been auto tuning every day on the way to work every day and finally got to the point where VEAL is just not going to dial things in better... I mean it got to 90%, and the car drives GREAT but when you've got a wideband gauge on your dash staring you in the face its a constant reminder of lack of perfection, so its now a battle of perfecting different correction factors. I finally "gave up" and turned on EGO with 3% authority, and now things are right where I want them, or at least commanded them to be I had been focused so much on getting the tune dead on that I wasn't really enjoying the drive, but now that I've got that out of the way, I just throw the top down and enjoy the exhaust note

That's a PRICEY parts list. You would be better off to re-do some LE seats, fix a cracked dash (theyre painted anyway) and use a voodoo knob.

Good thing you enjoy having your car hooked to a laptop. That would drive me bonkers, I just want to drive and skip all the fiddly crap.

Had a pretty epic road trip Saturday, that almost did not happen. Lost the clutch slave Friday night, luckily Autozone had one in stock for $20. Set out for Greenville, SC to pick up a ****ty hardtop, then drove to tail of the dragon - All with a very active 5 year old in tow. The car ran great, and apparently according to the megasquirt logs having the headlights up costs about 1 mph and increases engine load by 2kpa at 70mph

It was my first time taking this car to the dragon and also the first time with this engine setup... I don't drive fast enough up there to keep the car in the powerband... The 4:30 gears should help with that if I ever get around to putting them in.

Definitely going to get the hardtop painted, but not sure what job to do next.. Despite me selling a lot of stuff, the pile of parts I want to put on the car is still growing, not sure how I want to prioritize things.
