Yep I remember that happening to mine. Removing the intake/airbox gives you much more room to maneuver.
Also, many curse words were dropped along with the install.

I had everything clear, the best I could find on Miata.net is people saying you can take it out whole

Being an automotive classes can have its benefits, we were supposed to pull out brake master cylinder is today, but seeing as I got one for my car for Christmas, I got to put that in, good news is is that it won't leak anymore, bad news is that it doesn't seem to have improved much, however I desperately need front brake pads so I will report back after that, I also did some digging into why my exhaust sounds so horrible, I found this.

All of the welds holding the inlet into the muffler have broken so I can spin that around, i'm going to see if a local muffler shop can weld that while I wait for some spare funds to get a better exhaust, for the moment I took it off and I will be rocking the hater pipe for the next couple of days

Hopefully its a good muffler shop. As the rest will melt when they put a torch to it. I likely have a 1.6 muffler here as needed.

STOP......Brake Time. Conveniently my MOPAR classes for this semester includes Brakes and Suspension so I went ahead and got EBC green stuff pads and I was hoping to turn my old poweslot rotors, well that didn't work out but I ended up with this

    I definitely needed pads lol

The old power slot ones were stamped with 16mm minimum thickness, they had 16.7 not enough to make them good and still be safe so I got O'Reileys blank rotors that seem pretty nice

I found a coolant leak as well, I'll report on that later in the day.

I found the coolant leak, one of those little hoses that runs out of the bottom of the thermostat got a hole in it just above the lower hose clamp

Totally not my car but I've made my decision on shoes for Ashley, they will be wrapped in Dunlop DZ102's
