While doing the timing belt and water oump replacement I decided to do the CAS O-Ring. Well I've replaced the O-Ring and am reinstalling the CAS back into the head. I've got the CAS "tangs" lined back up with the grooves in the exhaust cam (I've got the valve cover off so i can see the "tangs" inside the groove) but the CAS is still sticking out 1/4" of an inch. I've followed the write up on miata.net and it said that it might be hard to press on once you get to this point because of the new O-Ring. I've pressed as hard as I think I should but its not going in. Am I missing anything? See pictures for where I'm at at this point.

So, I bought Hypnotoad's lights. And... I have no idea what I'm doing or what additional parts I need. I have searched part diagrams and can't find anything regarding fog lights! So what I really, really need at this point is a diagram showing how all this stuff goes together and where it bolts in (as well as what bolts I need, as I have none!).

Here is what I'm working with:

And here is what it looks like inside my driver side fog hole. A small piece of tubing runs back and doesn't connect to anything. Also, there's no wire loom connector inside which really worries me. I didn't get a picture, but inside the passenger fog there's no tubing but there is a wire loom connector.

I know there are a lot of lifter noise posts but I just want to make sure mine is normal. I have a 93 le with 145k on it. Oil was a little low, so I added some castrol 5w-30 high mileage to it. The original oil change was the same oil. I changed the oil about 3000 miles ago. This morning the car started rough. When driving the lifters were loud and when approaching 3k rpms the lifters got really loud. Pushed in the clutch and the engine speed dropped and I could here the lifters follow behind the engine noise. After about 10 mins if driving, everything seemed normal. Any thoughts?

6I purchased a '91 BRG Miata a month or so ago and ever since have been having an issue with the alternator/waterpump belt staying tight. The belt was squeaking when I had the car and had the vehicle towed to HP Motors in SC to have it diagnosed along with a couple other things. They found the tensioner bolt to be the wrong size and replaced it with the correct part. A couple weekends later, I decided to replace the timing belt and everything that goes along with it. Upon removal of the accessory belts, I found the alternator/waterpump belt loose. I went ahead and replaced the belt again during the major service. A few days go by and start to hear a belt squeak again...that damn belt is loose again. Joe Bryan sent me another tensioner block thinking maybe mine is stripped so I replaced that. Come Wednesday morning on my way to the airport, i started to hear the belt squeak again. Found one of the pulley bolts had broken off. Replaced the bolts using spare hardware and all was good. Well, I went to get back in the car just now to run to the store and the belt is squeaking again. So before I drive this turd off a cliff, does anyone have any suggestions as to what could possibly be causing this issue? The powersteering/AC belt is tight like it should be.

Only happens under light throttle. Began at the end of the track day. I didn't really notice it while on track bc I was FLAT OUT ;). It is extremely annoying when in daily use though.

There are no corresponding variances in any of the other sensor readouts, the MAP grows normally, TPS is reading as it should, but it is like I'm not getting fuel. Injectors have given up?

Here is a screenshot. I can send you the datalog!

Thanks!

96 m edition passenger door lock wouldnt lock. Took door card off, determined it needed a new latch. Replaced it, same symptoms. Inside door lock would not budge. Finally, finally figured it was the power door lock actuator had frozen. Just loosed tiny allen bolt to let actuator rod slide free. I am a moron. In my defense, bought car used, never had the key fob. On the plus side I can now install and uninstall a door latch in no time. And I also know how to remove a window twice. And what is wrong with velcro to attach the plastic to inside of door. I have that black adhesive everywhere. Would it be cost effective to get new actuators and new key fob?
