Varsity Meet - Thursday Evening

Righto, there's normally a huge turnout for this from all sorts of cars but unfortunately last time there were only 2 Miata, mine and some lass from IA who hasn't signed up on here yet... :wtf:

So post up here if you're interested in going, it gets pretty busy, pretty early this time of year. So if people want to organise a part for us all to try and take over we would need to do it earlier. Perhaps even a caravan. Post up if you're coming and where from.

Yes it's the one downtown, across the freeway from Georgia Tech.

I've been there till midnight before and there were still people there, but it usually starts to thin out around 11.

On a summer night like this, there won't be any parking spots left anywhere in the upper, lower, or back parking lots by 8:30 or 9. Hell, the pay parking lot across the street from the Varsity usually ends up full too. The scale of this meet is really insane. I always get there by 7:30 to get a good spot.

I will be getting up there around 6-30ish to get a good spot! It will go on till 10ish but usually around 8-8:30 the ricers all come piling in!

At least all of the burnouts and stupid **** have stopped since they started having cops patrol the parking lot. A year ago it was complete chaos.

Sadly my car won't be there, I'll be in my red Ranger. :( Miata is in the middle of being gutted. Full tan leather interior now for sale! :P

I did a drive by with my wife on the way to dinner. It was around 7 and the place was hopping.

Local import meets are often a bit ricey for my tastes too but mixed in among the ricers are always a few cool car guys & gals.

If you get there early, like we do, it's usually not bad nor over crowded.

We tried to find other miata owners but no one was really by their cars. :(

Huge turnout. I've been going for years but only every few months. In all honesty, most of the time I go I want to leave almost immediately. So many completely crappy cars and loud *** reeeeeally bad music.

I drank a bottle of champagne before we left though to ease the pain of going there so I could just stand back and laugh all of the crap that people drive. :lol:
