Auxiliary/fog lights

So i'm thinking of adding some Auxiliary/fog lights. The stock fog lights are a very poor design. I thinking of putting them in the stock location if they will fit. I am also wondering if the bulbs can be swapped out with HIDs and if they will create any quality light. What do yall think?
