Lets see here, first off, unless you know me, you cannot talk about how I act. I joke around in person, do you all cry then too? I NEVER said I am the best driver, I was kidding with Dopengagonme, my car is a 1.6 with bolt ons, he has boost. If I had an equal car then I would talk real ****. But this is a fun hobby for me, I was going to run ITA, now am doing some Skippy series events next year, and some time trials. My car is a track rat, I could care less what you all think about it, you aren't the driver, or the one working on it, everything is there to get the job done, which is be reliable, quick, and fun. It does all with ease.
As for the constant PM's from mods, stop, it's annoying. Don't tell me not to do something and when I do you do what you said not to. That makes sense. Is this a little communist Miata group? New rules: NO JOKING, NO LAUGHING, EVERYONE IS EQUAL, NOBODY IS GAY DON'T SAY THOSE WORDS!
If you really want to stop drama maybe you should go after people who CAUSE it. Maybe by posting hot sexy nudes of me on here, that causes drama, or maybe the *****es who come into every thread I make or every post and either start it through kidding about a previous thread, saying I am a cheap bastard, a prick, etc. NO WAY IN ******* HELL a thread on COILOVERS should start DRAMA. GROW THE **** UP. It was a good discussion about why people like them and don't. NOBODY can change anyones mind obviously, it didn't get bad until people started calling people names and generalizing saying people are poor for trying to save money.
Some things are ridiculous, a picture thread, someone asked if they had pics of their car, I asked the color and something else, and people get pissy over that..lol...really?
So I guess I will ONLY post if I have the same parts you do, am scared to laugh, and can't take jokes? I'm confused. lololol.

ibtl. and preparing for epic thread. lol

It will not be an epic thread as everyone will stop adding fuel to the fire. As far as I'm concerned, Simon stated what he wanted and we'll leave it at that. No need to continue arguing like we're in Jr. High still.

Exactly, so as long as we are all clear, from now on, unless you want to start drama, you know what to do members.

I have no arguments to add, I just want this **** to be over with so I can stop cleaning up the bull**** in all the threads.
Simon, what I'm about to say is only my perceptiongs of what's going on, take it as you will. Your method of joking is not well-recieved, as you can plainly see by the problems that have arisen in the past few days. Coupled with the fact that people are getting tired of you whoring out the forum and acting all ricer with your "WHAZZ YOUR RIDE DAWG?!". Joking and poking fun at people is ok, we've been doing that since day 1, but when you come across like you are truly serious in all aspects, it's not going to be taken as joking. That's mainly why we have those little things called smileys. No one can see you laughing from behind your screen/keyboard. And when most of the fingers are pointed at you, you can pretty much tell where the problem is.
Oh, and as a last thought, there are only two admins and no mods, when we see something that isn't right, we'll call that person out on it. Guess what? That's our place to do so, don't tell us to stop, that's not your place. You'll find an abrupt end if that's the route you decide to take. Along with acting like you moderate the forum direction.
as a relative outsider, ive gotten the impression lately that alot of people on here are acting like a bunch of kids.
also if some of this stuff had been happening on a board i mod, i wouldve banned you all long ago
take that how you will

FYI, you're asking people to stop acting a certain way, but you're opening the door by posting stuff like that.

12-23-2008, 12:41 PM
?? I agreed saying I probably would have banned myself and the others causing the issues, then there couldn't be any...and I wrote lol to make sure everyone knew it was meant in friendly way.

Ok. Misunderstood. My apologies. You have to add "myself included" or something. You know what you're saying/thinking, how others interpret it can only be done by what's directly in front of them on their screen. Which is also a huge player in this whole mess.
And let me say this, I really like this forum, and I'd like the opportunity to get to meet everyone on it someday, pre-all this, everyone seemed cool as hell. A Georgia-wide meet would be something really awesome someday, but I don't want to have to go to a meet dreading the fact that someone who I don't want to deal with on the internet is going to be there, as I'm sure other people don't want that. So, along the lines with this thread, let's cut the ****, get back to what we were so capable of having originally, which is a great forum.

I'll admit I probably didn't help the situation out, but i will apologize to all other MX5Atl members (not the op) for having to read some of my posts, but i'm simply not one of those people who just standby and not say anything. Many of you know my outside this forum and know i'm not really like that, which should be a good thing.
There is an obvious line between knowing when to cut up and clearly whoring/bumping post count/bumping old posts/antagonizing other members, and that line had obviously been crossed on multiple occasions and comments that were clearly aimed at people that should not have been. It's also clear that it wasn't just 1 or 2 people who were getting annoyed with what was going on, which is a clear sign that someone knew what they were doing and how it was effecting other forum members, both active in those threads and people just browsing. Posting up a thread cursing everyone out isn't exactly a tactical way to make things any better either or is telling people what to do in a rather crass manor. If you really see a problem with what happened, swollow your price, and accept that you might just have to simply apologize. Also, "LOL" doesn't make everything ok all the time....

Well I don't sit around and not reply either, so me + you = failure lol.
I'll say sorry for continuing an e-battle, just as you did the same. I won't say sorry for making threads that I did not think would end up so harsh. I also won't say sorry for talking back to people who are rude to me, call me broke, say something I want to do is stupid, etc. Which you did, and a couple of others.
EDIT: By the way what exactly do you call whoring? If I post in every thread that's not whoring. That's just being bored. I could care less what my post count is why would that matter????

I don't think it's funny at all.

personally, i'm not looking for an apology from anyone..especially on threads that were created to clearly cause a rise out of people.

You just contradicted yourself. Running through every sub-forum "because you're bored" and posting irrelevant replies is "postworing" and you know it, on top of it being common sense. If you're that bored, go be bored elsewhere.

I usually write real replies, or start real threads. You usually get on a forum to talk to people and stuff, like when you are bored. But that's all opinionated.
I'm sorry you don't think that's funny, but two people who act the same obviously will have a bad outcome in an argument.
This thread was obviously not trying to get an up rise...

Mike beat me to the post, but dredging up threads that have been idle for a while simply with an "lol" or something completely pointless and/or that does not add value to the thread is post whoring.
simontibbett
12-23-2008, 01:17 PM
I forgot about the no "lol" replies, i'm sorry.
EDIT: I AM KIDDING. I won't write lol anymore. And I won't post in threads unless they are BRAND NEW, which I find a bit strange, but ok.
RotorNutFD3S
12-23-2008, 01:20 PM
No, don't get me wrong. If someone posts a funny thread, we all reply with lol, what I was getting at was posting it in a days old thread when saying simply lol has no bearing on the thread. Or at least explain why you're laughing. Something that helps move the thread along in a progressive fashion. Does that make sense?
And threads are being deleted as a whole. We have new members joining as we speak, and I don't feel like letting this crap keep them from posting. I got someone to join up this morning, saw when the signed up, watched them read some stuff, they even sat in the Introduce Yourself thread for a long time, but they never posted. And yes, they went through those BS threads too. We don't need to scare off new membership in that form.
simontibbett
12-23-2008, 01:22 PM
I understand that entirely, but I really can't remember just writing lol in an old thread that didn't have a funny post above mine or the thread was made with something funny in it.
Feel free to delete whatever threads you want, most are trashed now anyways, they could have been good, if a new member signed up, maybe new to cars, asked about eBay coilovers, he/she could have read the thread to find info from both sides of people. Now it's just a bunch of hate and basically if I read it I would think well I won't buy these because then people won't like me. Same with some of the other threads.

As would I.
You come on here and constantly sling insults, act like no one on this board knows a damn thing about cars other than you (despite the fact that many of us have been driving and modding cars since you were in diapers and some of us have been for longer than you've been alive), you post one and two word replies that add nothing to a thread and it's completely killed the nice, calm and very friendly vibe of this forum.
I don't know if anyone else has noticed but look at the activity over the past few days. The posting by everyone else has dropped like a rock. And it's not just because of the holidays, many people are still at work today and were yesterday.
I'm with Eric, I really like this board. I think of it quite differently than I think of most boards. Pretty much everyone here is someone I know and like and has a real face and personality attached to them and what I see here lately is the kind of mindless bickering and e-thugging that I see on huge boards where people are nothing more than words on a screen. People that throw around insults because they don't know the person and it doesn't matter one bit if that person doesn't like them because they have no relevance in the person's real life. Well, this board does have relevance in the real world. I hang out with people from here all the time and I'm really glad I met all of them. Most of them, I would have barely known if this board didn't exist and it's been a great way to make new friends.
As for telling the mods how to run this board... let me tell you something I've told many people in my years of modding a board that's about 100 times the size of this one... you don't like the way it's run, leave. This is not public domain, this is not freedom of speech. This is a privately owned board that someone built with their own time and keeps running with their own money. If you don't like the way they choose to run this place, then bye. If they ban you, too bad. If they tell you to stop something and you think it's unfair, too bad. There are boards out there where people can say anything they want because that is how the owners choose to run their board. If someone signs up to a board like that and then goes them whining that someone hurt their feelings and they will tell them to get over it and have every right to do so. This is not one of those boards. Owners can choose to moderate as loosely or as strictly as they choose because they pay the bills. You come into my house acting like a fool and you will be asked to leave. This board is not your house, you do not make the rules.
My suggestion is to step away from the internet for a while and do something constructive. There is a LOT more to life than the computer. Personally, I use it as a tool to fill up bored moments and see new things, meet new people, answer questions, research and find things that will enrich my REAL life. Certainly not to purposely agitate people and possibly feel like some tough guy because I can type really mean things to people I don't even know. Typing faceless insults is amazingly weak.
Now, can we please just get back to normal and let this forum grow again? Let it be a nice place to stop by? Let it be a positive place where we can welcome new members?

I already said yes to your last question. I also said if that's going to happen you all can't act like animals and bash someone else.
I use the internet for work if I am not at my other job.
I didn't act like nobody knows about cars. But when I make a thread and all anyone can say is either that's rice, that's for poor people, etc. That makes people seem extremely unintelligent as you can see.
I don't post one or two word replies in every thread, and if I write lol, or that's funny, that's PERFECTLY acceptable. There is no rule to how long a post has to be. I can write whatever post I want, however long, I won't write straight out insulting posts for no reason.

I agree with Jenn on all aspects.
Since this whole thing started, I think I've made 1 or 2 posts over the past 4 days. That's unlike me. Not because I'm busy, not because of the holidays, but because it has become a place that I don't want to be a part of.
So let's just all move past this and try to bring this place back to how it used to be.

Jack not being here has nothing to do with the situation.
Our decision to not ban members as the first reflex, so that they can have the chance to acknowledge and rectify their actions, is the only thing that really drew this whole ordeal out.
Anyway, this thread has served it's purpose. If anyone has any concerns, PM me.
