 But it's a cute puckin fuppy!
I have no idea what I'm getting on Christmas Day other than a new GPS from the gf's parents. Mike got me an awesome shift knob for my new 6-speed transmission and MazdaSpeed t-shirt. My mom got me a complete set of 9 books by an author I really like, not that I'll ever have time anyday soon to read them.

Whats for Christmas? Brisket. Its in the oven right now.
I am neither Jewish or nazi, although I have been called both ...but I tend to enjoy foods that are familiar to me. There were 5 cultures of people (for the most part) where I was raised, Irish, Italian, Jewish, German, and Black. Of all those cultures I find Italian cuisine to be the most interesting....and German food to be umm..well...not that great! Hahaha. Wurst & Scrapple FTL! hahaha I think I know why its called wurst too....it tastes worst then most other things. ;) Scrapple...well the word SCRAP is involved...that should tell you something. Kraut...well its fine on a Reuben when slathered in swiss cheese. Being of German decent myself I must say however that some pastries are quite tasty....at least the ones made in my family.
Springerle FTW!! I still have my great grandmothers springerle board from the 1800's
And here's one perhaps only ADJake has tasted....Shoofly Pie...a rather tasty treat attributed to the Dutch but in this case its PA Dutch...which is German mostly. Cinnamon rolls...I'd like to think the 'krauts' invented those...regardless, theyre awesome.
And lets not forget BEER! Germans brought brewing and beer to this country. So, at least we know theyre good for more then just starting world wars! haha
Now, Irish food...thats what...potatos and corned beef with cabbage...great for an energy crisis as it causes tons of metric cubic feet of gas! Okay, I do like that stuff sometimes.
Fish and chips is good...especially if made from Grouper. ;)
I grew up on potatoes...and NOT those nasty sweet ones that inbred southern rednecks like my wife prefer either!!
Fried chicken, BBQ, & greens made by my black friends seem better then most....especially greens. No honky alive can make those!!
I am not really sure that brisket is really a Jewish food...although in the NE is often associated with that culture. A nice Jewish deli is usually the best place to get a slice or two of brisket or a pastrami sandwich. Mmmmm love those.
Regardless, I like brisket...whether braised or smoked.
I think smoking would be the American redneck way of cooking it.
Chicken soup or Matzah Ball Soup...well thats just plain tasty. Who doesnt like chicken soup!! And kosher grilled pork chops, one my faves too! Okay...haha....thats just a stupid joke. ;)
Ohhhhhhh you meant what GIFTS are for Christmas......ohh, nevermind.
Note - All cultural, religious, racial, ethnic, and other references are intended in the spirit of laughter & fun. So, whether your catholic, protestant, jewish, mormon, black, white, dutch, irish, redneck, european, kraut, hispanic, inbred, honky, or anything else I have failed to mention....just have a laugh. :D

I like black people food.
Southern white country folk likely have black folks to thank for most of their cuisine influence.
Things like okra, squash, and the like are all 'borrowed' from African cooking. I suppose one might argue that slavery played a role in that as well...as during earlier times blacks did most if not all the cooking in much of the south. There is really not any difference in a 'southern white folks meal' and 'black people food'. Mac & cheese FTW!

Allergic to pork? Wow...no Xmas ham for you then...without convulsions or anaphylatic shock!
I am not sure what this pineapple cheese dish is you speak of. I thought my wife made all the weird concoctions of fruit, cheese, and/or cool whip! haha...guess she may have missed that one, I'll have to ask her. I do alot of cooking but not that kind. My wife makes one of the best apple pies on this planet and if I am lucky I will get her to make one tomorrow. Needless to say, it will be gone within minutes. :D
Since pork is a no go brisket would be a good choice in your case as well.

Can't say I ever went there sounds good though...sugar in a pie shell how can you go wrong...
Have you actually found a good deli in these parts???? Peeps around here think pastrami is a 1/4" thick cut of fatty crap...they will never learn. I found one place in Alpharetta in front of the Kroger on State Bridge that is decent, they are actually from NY. I have heard of a place on Lville Suwanee somewhere near 85 that is pretty good have not tried it yet.
Matzah Ball Soup...only my grandmothers and she passed on quite a few years ago now. I can almost taste that sinker right now.mmmm
Back on topic I will get nothing and love it no gifts for me=no spending for anyone else call me a Grinch but I love it.

And yeah, it's not pretty when I've eaten pork. Swell up, get all red, can't breathe, pretty rough stuff.
I'm going to enjoy a nice thick filet I think, grilled Ruth's Chris style on a Green Egg. I've been craving one lately anyway.

I have never found any local establishment that serves pastrami in the fashion you or I would recognize and appreciate...not saying there isnt such a place, there may be, I just dont know about it. If you discover such a place be sure to let me in on it!
A good Jewish or Italian deli would be very high on my list of places to grab a sandwich...or something more exotic. I miss those places.

there used to be a good deli off of peachtree industrial blvd years ago, but I can't remember where anymore. Had great Pastrami sandwiches, so much thinly sliced pastrami you couldn't get your mouth over it.

Wait you made that storm trooper yourself!? How??
Steve, I was looking at something like this

Or

Seems to be the same thing but with the small screwdrivers I don't have.
The alternative easy option is something like this

The Drift Package Light car is pretty cool. The cats love chasing it. It hates traveling in a straight line.
I love the StormTrooper setup. I always wanted a Scout Trooper setup. :D Hey, aren't you a little short to be a StormTrooper?
Sounds like everyone had a good Christmas though!

, but I had to assemble it, and make all the strapping to be able to wear it.
Hey hey hey... I'm about the right height... Let me know if you want to get into a scout trooper. I knows people now, lol.
