So, I have a Dasani water bottle, what do you all have? I may upgrade to a large RedBull can. Anyone tried these?

Do I even have to explain? This thread is a joke. If your serious then maybe you should ask on IA. I think you'll get a lot better of a response.

No it's not a joke, what's wrong with using bottles as catch cans? Of course I won't ask that on IA lol then you WILL be flamed.

Why buy a expensive unit when you can use a bottle?

i remember back in the day people would use small 20 oz gatorade bottles for catch cans. Mostly on s13 and s14.

Honestly, I use a $5 air/water separator that I got at Home Depot. Works great and is easily hidden because it is no larger than a "D" cell battery.

^Is that the big thing people were writing DIY's on a couple years ago? If so it looked good.

Yeah, I think it was. I used the same one on my boosted Saturn, that's where I got the idea in the first place. Saturn owners are notorious for finding the cheap mods.

If you look below the inlet tube (the gold one) there is a hose, connected to that hose and strapped to the cold-air box is the separator. It's black, so it's hard to see. I'm going to put it somewhere else when I put it all back together again, no one ever noticed it there, but I don't want lines everywhere.

Oil catch can collect the oil, moisture and blow-by gas that causes carbon and sludge build-up in the intake system and engine to keep them clean.

PVC pipe with caps and fittings also works great and costs next to nothing.
Pretty good pictorial

^that's what I did. But if you guys need a catch can on a normally aspirated Miata, you've got big problems. That's way to much blow-by pressure given the excellent vent chambers Mazda build into the cam covers.

Using a plastic drink bottle is straight up rice. That's about as good as going to raid construction sites for some wood and nails to make a wing too...

It wasn't Coke, it was Dasani. Are you serious? Ever worked for a team or looked at cars? lol. I don't have a pic of that one but I have a pic of an SCCA car I will get it.
