This was posted up on S2ki and thought I would share.

The car is an Audi R8, crashed and located in Athens, Greece. Either they were speeding or fall asleep, no idea really. Both passengers survived, but the driver lost his legs. As you can see from the photos the barrier went through the entire car. http://www.s2ki.com/forums/html/emoticons/frown.gif

Keep your eyes on the road, stay sharp and drive safe as much as possible! http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d48/mymr2turbo/Misc/SNC00198.jpg

I raced with a guy that had the same thing happen to him - in a Saab Sonnet. Basically cut him in half at the abdomen, narrowly missing his spine. Guy coming the other way saw the accident and got him to the hospital that was only a mile away. The only long term result from the accident is a scar that runs half way around his body.

Jzilla has dibs on the floor mats! :jzilla:

On a serious note, those are some scary pictures. I wonder how fast they were going to do that sort of damage and to shove that railing that far into the car.

He's really lucky he only lost as legs. I'm not being sarcastic. I mean look how close that girder is. That's scary.

I'd be willing to bet that the needles on the gauges are about where they were upon impact.

dont most newer cars do that when you wreck them to show speed at the time of the wreck?

I love this place

"terrible accident" "people badly injured" "wrecked carnage"

Our response: "let's put that mother f***er in a Miata"
