Sawyer

lol....did Steve take my suggestions literally?

Haha yes he did!

We're planning on putting it on CR.net, haven't really gotten that far yet.. I'll do it tomorrow, it's 3am and I'm tired. :(

lol....did Steve take my suggestions literally?

I sure did! :p

The car won't even move being that low. I guess it's stuck on something and I don't want to take a chance and end up breaking something.

RotorNutFD3S
12-18-2008, 07:44 AM
Well, can't see the pictures, but I assumed it's slammed CR-style.

MeFryRice
12-18-2008, 07:46 AM
Oh it is! It'll be sitting in the garage till next Monday if you want to swing by and see it Eric.

RotorNutFD3S
12-18-2008, 07:54 AM
Haha! I might have to do that! So guess you're driving to the meet this weekend?

Sawyer
12-18-2008, 09:10 AM
Yeah we'll be taking his car. I think this will be the first meet that it's been to!

12-18-2008, 09:23 AM
So wait, why'd you take the suspension off? I thought Steve just put the springs on? Too bad you couldn't take pics of it without the rocks under the wheels

Should title it something like "Help CR!! I lowered my car and now I can't get it out of my garage!" and watch the epicness unfold.

When I got the pics of me out on Road Atlanta, I posted them on miata-turbo with a big title that read "My middle finger to the so-cal/CR slammed faggorty" hehehe

MeFryRice
12-18-2008, 09:43 AM
Um well, she got some JIC Coilovers and a FM FMIC. :D

I tried moving the car off the rocks and it will NOT budge one at all. :(

RotorNutFD3S
12-18-2008, 10:00 AM
Whoa! You totally did not mention the FMIC!!! Where did that come from?

Oh, and Kris is getting all antsy.

Doppelgänger
12-18-2008, 10:01 AM
You couldn't even just set it in place on the ground without the rocks?

MeFryRice
12-18-2008, 10:13 AM
Haha no. We couldn't even get the scissor jack to fix under it either. My floor-jack was smooshed under the car.

MeFryRice
12-18-2008, 10:13 AM
Whoa! You totally did not mention the FMIC!!! Where did that come from?

Oh, and Kris is getting all antsy.

Yeah, that was a last minute thing. :D Everything should be here on Monday and I know LB is excited.

Doppelgänger
12-18-2008, 10:20 AM
Where did you get the FMIC? How much shipped? I need to pick one up for a friend.
Oh, let me know when you are installing it, I need to come over and see what all hold the damn stock bumper in place lol. I've never had a stock bumpered Miata...so I don't exactly know how much of a PITA it is to get off.

MeFryRice
12-18-2008, 10:38 AM
I didn't have to remove the front bumper to remove the intercooler, I thought I would have to also. Apparently Mazda has applied some sort of adhesive to the clamps/hoses which made it a pain in the arse to remove the clamps.

I was actually going to call you last night to see if you knew how to remove the front bumper.

LB got the intercooler off of a a member of mazda-speed.com. (The same member that is selling the Wilwood BBK that you posted about).

RotorNutFD3S
12-18-2008, 10:42 AM
Why would he take the bumper off to install the IC (FM doesn't list that step in their instructions)? Or am I missing something in your question there Mike? And you do know you can get an intercooler other than the FM piece for cheaper elsewhere right?

:EDIT: Steve beat me to the post.

Doppelgänger
12-18-2008, 11:11 AM
All the pics i've seen of intercooler swaps, the bumper was removed. I've always had bumpers that come off with 6 bolts and 2 minutes of time...which makes things easy. I found some intercoolers on eGay for $80 shipped that are the right size.

Sawyer
12-18-2008, 01:28 PM
Eric, the springs are coming off the stock suspension at 5pm so Kris won't have to wait much longer!

Good thing I didn't get an alignment with those springs yet!

RotorNutFD3S
12-18-2008, 01:39 PM
Haha! Sweet! I didn't even know you guys had gotten them on the car yet.

MeFryRice
12-18-2008, 01:55 PM
Yeah, I installed them the same day we received them.

RotorNutFD3S
12-18-2008, 02:16 PM
Well, information I could have benefited from.

12-18-2008, 02:28 PM
Why do you all hate club roadster?!

RotorNutFD3S
12-18-2008, 02:44 PM
Personally, I don't hate ClubRoadster. I do however disagree with all of the (mostly) SoCal kids that think that rusted body panels and slammed cars and sh** like that looks good or serves some purpose. If you're going for style, whatever, but don't tell me your slammed POS can outperform or outmanuever a properly suspension-tuned equivalent.

What I do hate about ClubRoadster is the sudden joining of retards that have quickly taken away the place where one could have an educated discussion about all things Miata.

simontibbett
12-18-2008, 03:05 PM
I like the red NA with the rusted trunk.

For LOOOKS!

MeFryRice
12-18-2008, 04:02 PM
I'm with you on this Simon, there are a number of cars on Cr that appeal to me although it appears that the majority of the board hate that style. I have to admit, if you don't like CR's look, your probably not really going to like mine either. :)

MeFryRice

This is my background on my phone currently. (I'm personally not a fan of the hood risers or the fake bandaid).

I like it enough to where I'm going to get some Work Equips since I cant find my Takata Green TE37's in the proper fitment. :(

simontibbett
12-23-2008, 02:10 PM
Just saw ^ that reply, so I am not bumping old threads.

Yeah I really like the look of that car, and most slammed Miata's especially with 0 offset wheels and such, may not be the best performing cars, but I like the look of them.

im not a fan of work equips or hood risers, but i like slammed miatas and 0 offset for the looks.

i think you should find something a little less common. miata =/= civic. its not okay to look exactly the same as everyone else.

How about some of those 3 spoke bronze advans, are they common? I've always had a soft spot for them.

jesseealexander

^^ those are pretty cool wheels, but ive never really had a taste for them. i think some 3 peice bbs rs's would be REALLY nice.

The Super Advans?
He actually almost ordered a set for the S2000 before he decided to sell it.
I used to hate them, but they have grown on me..

Super Advans! That might be them! Although I think I'm envisioning something slightly different that may not even exist

Don't worrry Jack, you won't be finding stretched tires on any of my cars. :p:p

Super Advans! That might be them! Although I think I'm envisioning something slightly different that may not even exist

I would buy the Super Advans as they are my favorite wheel of all time (only the Ver. 2 though) but not for the miata as I feel these wheels only look good with a concave or a deep lip and the lowest size available is a 17".

As LB has already mentioned, I was ready to order a set for the S before I decided to sell the car. I was going to order them in 17x9.5 et 35 in Bright Chrome. Yes, you guys can hate all you want but these are just straight up sick.

Well with the crappy 4x100 bolt pattern, the selection of wheels is pretty poor. Poor enough to where I've considered selling the Miata due to the fact that I haven't really found a set of wheels that I feel are worth my money. I am however going to order a set of Kosei K1's till I find a set of wheels that I like enough for everyday use and use the K1's for future track use.

I'm not a fan of the hood risers either. I find it to be quite ghey IMO.

5 lug swap.

Is the wheel selection really that restricted with 4x100??

simontibbett

I haven't really seen a problem with 4x100 wheel selection?? Maybe for JDM mAd tyGht stuff?

Ok, show me hubs that I can modify to fit on the Miata...I'm serious cause this is something I really want to do.

MeFryRice

The rep system gets out of hand. I do think we need an iTrader setup which can only be used for items sold from one member to another.

Jack-MX5ATLanta.com
01-02-2009, 04:33 PM
Yeah I was planning on an itrader setup but there wasn't a fully compatible version at the time and I didn't see the point in adding any possible loop holes for now while we're still a reasonably small community and have a member transaction forum where people can share their experiences.

With a larger board I fully see the need.
