So Im planning o a night out with this girl. Mind you that we are both young. shes 18 im 19

Im trying to think of something that would be fun/unique

She's open minded and likes anything..

some ideas ive thought of.. Mini golf (fun not unique) Rock Climbing (fun and different) and this is more for her but maybe paint your own pottery place.

Any suggestions, ladies please feel free to share your opinions!

Starlight Drive in movie theater on Moreland in Atlanta man! classic, different way to watch a movie, and cheaper than a regular theater.

I cant think of any other stuff at the moment. Is this a first date?

There stuff to do, but you just have to be creative. There are comedy clubs, but Im not sure of the age limit on them. There use to be this murder mystery place near the Fox in Atlanta. One of those things where you go, and all of a sudden, you are involved in a fake murder and have to help solve it. Concerts are always nice, depending on the music. Variety Playhouse in little 5 points is a great venue for acoustic, piano, mellow type music. Check out their website. There is also the World of coke and aquarium. They are literally right next to each other and offer combo packages, but thats more of a day thing. Uhhhhh, not sure, thats all I got for the moment. Laser tag if thats still around?

If it is a first date then something along the mini-gulf is a good idea. Gets you up and about, chance to talk easily, and isn't that hard on the pocket. Oh and if need be, easier to just stop half-way is the date is just bombing.

The driven movies are great, but bad first dates, better second. If she doesn't know you that well driven can be kinda creepy to a girl, plus doesn't give her the chance to leave early.

Rocking climbing could work for either first or second(more second then first). Different and not the norm, but lack the chance to talk much.

Either mini-gulf or rocking climbing are good cause you can then go to a cheap/small/quick dinner style place for a bite after wards if you two are hungry.

**edit** just saw were you live. May sound stupid, but if you know the girl any, window shopping at the mall is a great causal mini date.

Ah minigolf, the worlds most cliche first date.

Do something exciting, race go karts! I mean, I love some minigolf but no ones heart rate is rising over the windmill.

Recently I set up this date for my friend Dave. First some sushi, I got him to call ahead with his CC number so he wouldn't have to deal with the check or anything.

Then go kart racing which gets the blood pumping (the guys who work there know which karts are faster, slip him a five to ensure she gets the fast one).

Then off to the hookah bar for something exotic and relaxing. Something about the dark room, practically laying down, in a smokey atmosphere does wonderful things in a girl's head.

Dave became a man that night.


The high is a good date depending on the girl. If she's the artistic type make sure to read a wikipedia article or something. If she's not then go straight to the abstract level to have a good laugh. I wouldn't go for Allure only though unless you want the world's shortest date :lol:

If you wanna be cute, I'd say make everything a "surprise." Don't really tell her what ya'll are doing. It makes it more fun for the girl (in my case.) I always like the feeling of getting in the car and not knowing where we're going! Maybe give her a heads up on what to wear (if you're going to be outside, tell her to wear something light, maybe shorts, so she's not hot and miserable). For a first date, you could take her to a park, plan a whole picnic. Doesn't have to be anything extravagant, just pack some food, pack a big blanket, and take her to a nice park and sit down and eat! That'll give you guys plenty of time to talk and get to know each other more.

This cracks me up that the Starlight is still there. My parents took me to movies there starting at the age 5 and I used to lay in the back window of our old Chevy and watch until I fell asleep. We lived just off of Moreland back then. I am 52 now so that gives you an idea the age of that place.

Full disclosure, I'm a pretty boring guy. But I've dated and am happily married, so hopefully I know at least a little about what I'm talking about!

What is the purpose of the first date? I mean, seriously... is this the first step in a relationship, or just a one-night type of a thing? I'm assuming it's the "first step" sort of thing, 'cause I don't have experience in the latter :lol:

So, first date; how well do you know the girl? I think the purpose of the first date is to get to know the person better. Any place where you can spend at least some time chatting is a good thing. If you know her already and know her interests, key off of that. Is she an art lover? Hit the museum. Does she love roller coasters? Hit 6 Flags. etc etc.

I think a surprise first date is a terrible idea unless you know her well, and know how she'll react. She may take offense, or even freak out if a strange guy picks her up in a car and starts driving to an unknown destination...

So, more info needed for good advice! And if you have the date, good luck!

i always keep first dates simple. Go somewhere public, and grab some tapas or a few appetizers, normally i would have a few drinks, but it doesnt apply here. keep conversation flowing.

I would go to apres diem in midtown. food it good and cheap, patio is beautiful, and its right beside piedmont park, so if the date goes well, and needs to be extended then you can go for a walk around the park. and if you 2 dont mind walking, there are plenty of distractions within those city blocks.
