Oh dear. I have spent waaaaay too much time in that airport. It reeks. Very smoky in places. Sadly, the only restaurant you can escape it in is McDonald's (upstairs)... but it's cool because Greek McD's have different stuff on their menu and they have big windows overlooking the runway so you can watch planes take off against the mountains.

I had to get out of that place, went out through security and sat outside on a luggage trolley and read a magazine for a couple of hours.

There is a great (and stupidly cheap) Gyro place on Santorini. I can't remember the name of it but could probably find it on a map (it's on a corner, not in a city, in a small but new looking shopping mall). I went there quiet a few times to get 3 Euro chicken gyros. Very tasty. Some of the Greek food was a little much for me though. Like French cooking, a lot of pork and then there's the lamb... I eat neither. The Greek McD's has normal stuff too but they have a few extras that we don't.

For our last night we are dining at a more Italian place on the very northwestern tip of the island called Sunset that supposedly has amazing lobster spaghetti for not too much.

Totally off topic, but this was what I ate at the McD's in the Tel Aviv airport. It was called a "Charcoal McRoyal" or something equally ridiculous. Too bad it wasn't a "Royale with Cheese" like in Pulp Fiction! Notice the potato wedges, packets of mayonnaise, and can of Sprite (all part of the value meal):

On the side topic though, I have had a "Royale with Cheese", it's actually "Royal Cheese". It was as disgusting in France as it is here. I do love their pommes frites sauce though.
