Hand brake issue..

So I got in my car today to go to work and it seems like my right rear parking brake is engaged. Had smoke and the whole nine yards. Brand new calipers and pads. It was parked on an incline so I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Any ideas? I cant seem to get it to loosen up.

Just reset it. Loosen the adjuster screw and reset it. I've had that happen before and usually that's all that I needed to do.

is it located on the caliper on this one or the lower handle?

Its on the back of the caliper directly behind the piston. Its a 14mm bolt that covers a 5mm allen screw. Just back it off a bit then run it back down till it just starts to get resistance and then back it off 1/2 turn. While you're there check the caliper to make sure its sliding easily on the pins as well.

ok so its for sure a 5mm not a 4mm that I kept reading in other places?

Its one or the other, I don't remember. If its 4mm everywhere go with that.

well either way, I got it to release, so Ill just wait to get to the shop and check it out there.
