What do you think it will cost to get a bumper cover sprayed with color and clear? Assume new, oem cover off the car.

I was quoted around $65 for a mirror and $375 for a hood up at the Capital Cadillac body shop.

it's very good for the price. he does spray outside so sometimes there is some little trash in the paint he works out of a van (down by the river) and hits different dealerships.

+1 for Sentry, they do awesome work, and their shop is fun to be around(spec miata), but last time I took something there(3 years ago) they had a waiting line out the *** for people trying to get stuff painted.

I'd HIGHLY recommend Magnum Collision in Marietta.... they're the only ones that i'd ever trust with my car.

How much have you guys been quoted for the whole car, maybe without clearcoat?

I got my car painted by my friends brother who works at Ford, and does paint on the side at a private booth in woodstock, he sprayed my car for about 2000, with repairing some dings, a busted front fiberglass bumper, and some extra parts that needed to be sprayed. I did all of the removal of parts for him though.

Ben- what'd you end up doing? where? how much? I may be doing the same if I can't find a cover in silverstone.

As of right now, I don't think he gotten any work done yet, since he still has the 99-00 bumper.

I couple years ago I repainted my front bumper (after closing up the crack from the previous owner) with "matched" Krylon. Didn't turn out too bad ;)

Ya know that weird near-center exhaust exit I have/had? Well, that was actually a tear in the cover from when the car was rear ended like five years ago. Rather than spend the repair money on a new cover, I cut around it for an exhaust exit and went racing with cash. :D I did buy a new deck lid and fascia/finish panel though.

Ben, you do know ANY bodyshop can mix up ANY paint on the spot? No one actually has cans of color coded automotive paint around, it's all mixed.

Had mine painted by a local guy who uses a shop after hours. Had a new front bumper cover, new front airdam, foglight bezels, rear mudguards a rear bumper painted/refinished for $300.

I haven't done anything about this yet. If/when I can score a large or msm front lip, I would be motivated to move more rapidly. The headlamps ended up fitting fine and looking good with the 99 bumper cover, so I'm not feeling any pressure to rush.

Since my original bumper had so much road rash, I had to purchase a new one anyway. I almost went 01+ route, but decided on the original 99 in the end. The 01+ was actually a few bucks less, but it was the total cost of the new 01+ headlights combined with the MSM lip that made the decision for me. Best combo (IMHO) would be the 99 bumper/airdam with 01+ headlamps with a better fit.

I can appreciate the work, but is it possible to "rework" the area near the inside of the lamps where the parking light indicator is? It seems a bit too pointy. I'm wondering if it would be possible to reshape this? I was going to experiment myself on a broken one, but mazmart still wanted to charge me a over $100 for the part...a headlamp with broken tabs and a hole in the housing!!
