1993 RHD RX7 blk/blk make offer ! - $13000 (buckhead/brookhaven)
______________________________________________

Up for sale is a RHD (right hand drive) 1993 FD RX7 R1 with many upgrades !! It turns heads everywhere I take the vehicle. Mainly because its a RHD vehicle. Beautiful Blk exterior, Bride racing seats, new exhaust, intakes, greddy turbo timer, re-amemiya gauge cluster, matching red stitch shift knob + brake boot. HID headlights. Just serviced at MAZCARE in marietta. There is lots more but can't remember off the top of my head.
The negatives at the moment are dead battery (left the lights on)
And the twin turbos could be recalibrated. pulled hard between shifting from 1st to 2nd. might just be the driver :)
The reason for selling is because I have a LS1 RX7 as well as, sorry rotary fans, I like the piston v8 better :( I have Georgia Title in hand ready to sign over to new owner !
I will entertain all REASONABLE OFFERS. so please do not hesitate to email me.
thanks for checking out my add !!!

I'm almost tempted to check it out and find out how not legal it is. And then go to the bank. My g/f would have a fit. lol

:) I just sent him an email asking for more info and asking when I could come take a look at it. We'll see. If it turns out to be legit and I can own/drive it without worrying about it suddenly getting seized by the Feds, I may end up buying it and I'll put off building the NB for a while.

That would be pretty cool. It needs the original headlamps and a Spirit R front bumper. A set of Fikse FM5's would look on there as well. :p

If he already has a GA tag and title you have little to worry about, except maybe passing emission testing which depends on where you tag it.

That's just state legal (and since it's tagged in Dekalb, it's passing emissions), federal legalities are a whole different story. You can have the car legally confiscated and they can give you the finger as they drive off and you're out everything invested. It happened late last year to a lot of Skyline GT-R owners who thought that everything was legal about their cars.

I'll have to check the IA link at home, that forum is blocked here. lol

Get an insurance quote. I used to own a German M6 and it was ridiculous to insure because the VIN wouldn't come up in the system. May not be the same with Mazdas but worth looking into pre-purchase.

What's wrong with the US one's?

Yup, I'm waiting to hear back from the guy to see if it's a clip swap or not.

What's wrong with the US one's?

Nothing.

I hate that bullsh*t. I can kinda understand on the whole skylines as they was never an American counter part, but sh*t if there is an American version of the car, you can suck my left nut. Plus don't even get my started on the whole crash test bull. The test overseas are harder to pass then their American counter part.

So I just got an email back and some more pictures. I've got to do some more research about owning such a car... I was doing some reading on the NHTSA website, what I got from all the legal mumbo jumbo was that 87-95 RX7s are eligible for import as of last year, as are 90-93 Miatas, so there may be no issue of having it federally. Just a matter of getting it legally registered and insured in the state which he's already done as it's tagged, well, at least it appears that way. I want to see the registration card with the VIN he provided me.

Jack,
I think you were talking about my Bimmer, if not I apologize. If so it was a 85 model They weren't imported to the US until 88 I think. The M635csi had 286hp instead of US versions 258hp, also they hung big ugly bumpers and side marker lights on the car to pass US D.O.T regulations. No offense to anyone with a US spec M6, but for me it killed the cars smooth lines.
