In the near future i am going to be needing a new set of tires, while i am not sure on the exact tire i want i have a question. Would there be any problems running a 205 width tire on stock rim (15x6) ? According to the tire rack website they a 205 rim width range is 5.5 -7.5" so i wouldnt think there would be a problem but i wanted to get more input. I just want to get more rubber on the ground and also fill out the rear fender well with some more tire.

205 50 15 would be perfect for you. they fit the stock 15"s perfect and i beleive it was a standard or at least optional tire size for miatas.

I had 215-40-17's on the black car, Doppleganger runs 225's with the inner fenders removed. 205-50's wouldn't be any problem at all.

It might be a optional but stock for the 10ae was a 195.
thanks for the feedback.

The 195/205 is an ongoing debate. Personally Id recommend going with a stickier 195. Steering response is much better, and you dont get the sidewall flex of a wider 205.

I hear you there but a stickier tire than what i plan on doing with wouldn't work just because i need a tire that can handle some miles on it since its my daily driver. I am not too worried about sidewall flex since its a daily driver first and a weekend toy second. It hasnt seen a track day in its life, sad i know, and wont for awhile atleast since i generally dont have the time for it.
