I am thinking of making an extended shift "arm" that comes at a bend right next to the steering wheel. It used to be the shiet on Hondas when I raced. Looking for an example, but idea is to shift without having much time off the steering wheel. lol.
Anyone done it?

Kind of cool, I bet you could do it with just some simple welding. Tommy's metal stick is quite high :naughty:

Lol, don't make fun of the shift pole, it's functional. :D
This thread is going to get really perverted before the end.

That is very similar to what I did for my 911 on the track. I had an aftermarket shifter and put an extension on it to get it up close to the right hand on the wheel.
It worked very well. I am sure it wouldn't be too hard to do.

Yeah I want it easy to swap out for track and street.

I have never seen the top of the stock shifter without the knob on it in the Miata. Is it threaded on the top?

The reason for that is that there are many immature ****** nozzles on cr.net that all chime in on for sale threads with their opinions of sellers price/product etc etc

Yeah, they say it keeps the BS out of the FS section. It's a good and bad idea. Keeps people from filling the thread with "Well you can get that from xx place for $xx, your price sucks" with the mentality that if the price is not good, it won't sell and the seller will have to adjust accordingly,. But it causes the hassle of having to PM the seller questions, which are probably questions which everyone else wants answers to as well.
:EDIT: Yeah, what Kurt said.
