View Full Version : Something for the Miata guys....a bi-weekly meet!

okay, on WRXAtlanta, I put together a bi-weekly meet that we have some decent turn out to, but I think it could be greater. I'm working on changing things around and wanted to extend an invitation to everyone here to join us for those get together's.
Basically, we meet up, go to eat and that's about it. There is no silly racing, or hanging out in parking lots til all hours of the night, or fighting (thank IA :p).
Right now, we only have one meet left, but was thinking of holding off on that for the remainder of the year until next year when things get back to normal.
I'm also looking into new places to go to and whatnot. Right now, we try to keep things centralized so that everyone (or most everyone) can join us!
The last event is this coming Tuesday at On the Border in Kennesaw. Meets start around 7:15 to 7:30 and last about 2-4 hours, depending on where we are/what we are doing.
Places in the past we have gone:
Fellini's
OTB (buckhead and Kennesaw)
Pappadeaux
All Star Pizza
Mazzy's Marietta
I'm open to other suggestions and opinions!
:)

Cool!
I get half off at On the Border because they're owned by the same company as Chili's!
I might be able to go..

Twice per week, really?
Dude I have a hard enough time figuring out how to schedule 1 per month.

:lolol:
Bi-weekly, as in every two weeks!

bi-weekly was used as an adjective, and as such the meaning is two times per week.
If once per 2 weeks were the intent, a better term would be bi-monthly.

True. I can see the confusion.

What time do the meets usually start? I'm def. interested in attending as I'm a fan of Subie's. :)

English minor. U *****es. :fawk:
PS, if you're going to see some Subie people, a friend of mine is looking for a clean Outback with decent miles.

In payroll and accounting terms....
semi-weekly means twice per week
bi-weekly is every two weeks
semi-monthly is twice per month (such as getting paid on the 15th and 30th)
Unfortunately, bi-weekly and bi-monthly have dual meaning in general terms. Bi-monthly wouldn't work for this meet though because as anything that is every two weeks, two months out of each year, the event will occur three times.
Anyways.. thanks for inviting us. I'll have to ask Mike if he'd want to go. I guess it mostly depends on where and if other Miata people go as well.

Sounds interesting. We know quite a few people that are on WRXATL who are on 4Touge. Good crowd.
Meehan's is an aewsome place too... also, Mellow Mushroom, LOCO's, Wild Wings and Dreamland BBQ.

right now, we have enough pizza places, but Mellow Mushroom is still in the back of my mind. Wild Wings wouldn't work due to it being on Tuesdays as they won't seat you until the ENTIRE party is there...that would suck.
I've thought about meehan's in Sandy Springs, but haven't been there in years. Last I was there, there wasn't a whole lot of room to accommodate for a crowd of 15+.
Dreamland was a BIG thought I had this afternoon. It's something to look into. I'd prefer to stay away from the bull**** that is Norhtpoint mall, but that's just far enough away to make it okay. :)

as of right now, it's something I'm working on to start AFTER the new year. This way it gives me time to get the proper stuff worked on.

^^ that's exactly the feedback I'm looking for, thank you.I've been taking that into consideration, and I'll have to look into places up that way. Is there any place in particular that you were thinking of?
Old Towne Tavern, Jillian's...etc?
thanks!

It would probably take a good 30-40 mins to get to Gwinnett depending on traffic.

Isn't it more than that? When we went to the Sonic Meet that one time didn't it take us close to an hour? Or am I crazy?

Gwinnett works out good for everyone. It takes about that kind of time to get there from Athens.
