Ok i love the look of real carbon fiber but i dont have the m oney to buy actual carbon fiber bezels for the radio and shifter, so i was wondering if anyone has seen the real carbon fiber wraps that they have out on ebay like this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mazda-Miata-1999-99-2000-00-Real-Carbon-Fiber-Dash-Kit_W0QQitemZ310165937491QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors _Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item4837549d53

does it wrap all around the curves of the bezel or just flat piece that mounts to the front. Yes i know some people think that it will look like crap because they just dont like carbon fiber that much to begin with but i do. I honestly dont want most of the pieces that come with that kit mainly just after the radio and shifter bezels. all the other pieces would be too much but a lil would look good. The car has the fake carbon bezels but it doesnt look like the real thing. so what do you guys and girls think?

From the pictures I'd say its flat. They show the use of a heat gun to bend a panel to fit. On the other hand its fairly cheap at a little more thasn $100, might be worth taking a risk, if you really like the look.

The one you linked to mounts on the front of what you have with a 3M backing.

I've been playing with NeffyWrap and the 3M DiNOC stuff, they're both kinda cool. If you're looking to do just minor pieces like that, you may want to try those out, much cheaper than spending $100+ on a kit that you're only going to use a few pieces from.

yeah i thought about getting the wrap and doing it myself but the ones i have seen in person dont look real at all, but i haven't seen the nefftywrap or 3m stuff just regular carbon vinyl. I guess i am going to have to take a chance no matter what way i go, but at least with the wrap i can have it wrap all around the bezels and not just on the front so if you look at it from the sides you don't see where it stops. out of the two which do you think looks the best?

The 3M works best on the exterior or items with lots of curves (because it can be heated to form), but it's also more expensive. The Neffy is better for the interior on flat areas, like what you want to do. They both look pretty authentic until you're right on top of it. You posted in my thread about this, but these are the pictures of the armrest I wrapped:

I still have a whole sheet of the Neffy, you're more than welcome to some of it. :) If you want, come visit and I'll put it on those panels for you.

might take you up on that sometime soon but before i do that i want to get plain black bezels to do it to them. I figure ill keep my faux carbon fiber 10ae bezels just in case i want them later.

I should find something in my interior to wrap in that stuff. Just something small, just because.

I did that trim ring around the shifter for someone's NB. It looked really good.

We shall have to do that. Hey, did you ever upload those pictures of my head unit from your camera? I should do an update to my journal. PM me if you did, and Ill give you my email.

Wait, you BETTER not wrap ANY of that wood grain stuff.

If that's what you plan on doing, I'll trade you my trim lol.
