View Full Version : Daydreaming about my next car

So while I'm selling all my parts and completely killing all my debt, I've been watching market prices on a few cars I'm interested in for daily driver purposes. Sometimes I run across some cars that I'd love to have but are either out of my price range or don't fit my current goals. Other than a WRX, I haven't really mentioned what I want, so don't take any car that is posted as an indication of what I'm getting. It'll be a surprise. :)

This is something I'd love (simply because an '86 GXL was my first sports car):

Pretty sweet deal at $12,500.

I likes...

I'm actually a bigger fan of the first body style of the RX-7... not sure why though...

Yes. I've seen several over at MazCare- complete and in progress. IMO that's what the vert really needs. :D

That's why I swapped a TII setup into my vert, it was SLOW...

Motorized seat belts scare me.

Not much of a fan myself. Needless to say, in my dreaming, harnesses and some seats would find a new home in that car.

I daydream about FC's constantly... Sadly the market over here is so small it's hard to find a solid car, that's why I'm roadster powered so far...

I'd be happy with a clean s4 TII. mmmm

Add LS swap like that one and I'd drive it :D
I'd rather have an FD with LS swap though. I really do like the looks of an FD.

Yep. FDs are best!

FC's are one of my favorite car designs and I'm not sure why the FD has better lines and more thought put into but the FC just has something about it for me. I think it's because it's the epitome early late 80's/early 90's JDM sports cars. I love em.

I remember Tommy telling me about a mean white Turbo II with those wheels he ran into a couple of times in the mountains and had some fun with.

I don't know I like the body style of cars like the FC, MK3 supra etc.

The nice smooth lines of the FD to be like the a hot super model, vs the FC and being the beautiful girl next door.

I think that's the perfect description – hot super model and girl next door. I love em both

Skylines are incredible, but how too is it to get one federalized and how much of a PITA to have to drive on the wrong side of the car? Why not just do an engine conversion of an S14 with like a full on 300z turbo motor?

RotorNutFD3S
01-30-2010, 10:27 PM
That's the fun part of daydreaming. Federal legalization and $$$ concerns don't exist. :p Driving on the wrong side, been there done that. Not bad once you get used to it. This is something that would be a fun weekend/car event driver, not a daily, if it were attainable that is.

How about a nice 1972 C10 skyline. But a newer Rb20 or 25 and get old school style with new school power

I had a friend about a year ago selling an 86 silver gxl. I think he sold it for $600, it had a new clutch and ran great.

Saw one of those (C10 Skyline) at NOPI one year, all original. It was definitely beautiful.

yea but that not great of a body style. In my opinion the C10 is the only old school stying that looks good. The c110 is ok, but just looks to "american" to me. The c10 is the only pre R-body that is good in my opinion.

I would love to get an old C10 body, and drop a nice RB20 into it. It is right up the list of having a Rx3 with a 13B-T

Pulling an L20a out of a c10 would be a crime, even if it was an rb

only kinda... but really pulling a S20 out of the c10 would be a crime. The L20 is only kinda. Like pulling a 13B out of a FD.

The only way it wouldn't be a crime is if you gave me the s20 or l20a after you got done pulling it... Snap to it! Lol

Man, if only it were only a few months later, I could snatch this up: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/fresh-painted-1993-rx7-roller-setup-for-ls2-swap-extras_W0QQitemZ250571440369QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_ Cars_Trucks?hash=item3a5738c0f1#ht_500wt_1182

Rolling FD shell for $5k, is already prewired and has the subframe installed for an LS swap. All it needs is an engine, transmission, and driveshaft. :(
