Whats up everybody Im trying to put the new coilovers on the car and the shock boots are gone. Where do you get the new boot or does it come as one piece (bump stop, shock boot).......suggestion would be nice. Im trying to find some before 5 so I can get them by tomorrow.
Thanks

Stock boots are one piece with the bump stop.
I may have some, not sure. I do have some aftermarket boots.
Aftermarket progressive type bump stops are HIGHLY recommended for coilovers.

So what do I need, better yet what is the cheapest way out? Generic boot on stock bumpstop? or the onepiece units?

Booooo.........the cheapest boot i can find is 30 a boot!!, rspeed, gomiata, mmmiata etc. even summit has them at 18 I think. Im so ready to drive the car again I might go bootless, how bad will that wear the shock out? I already know that this is not advised but there has to be a cheaper way. I plan on replacing all the bushings in a few months with sway bars and a better bump stop will it be okay for a few months?

Cheapest? Is that your formula for suspension?
I have 4 brand new boots (aftermarket) you can have for $20
If I were you I would get some good bump stops. The OEM NA units are crap
for lowered cars.

Fat Cat or FM is the way to go. Cheap out on suspension and you will regret it, been there, done that, hit the guardrail.

I went to autozone and picked up some generic rubber boots in the past, zip tied them into place. Worked fine.

Thats what I ended up doing is going with the generic boot and the oem bumpstop, looks like it will do the job.

I bought some from 4-wheel parts & installed them like this: www.miata.net/garage/suspension/index.html For less than $20.

I haven't had any boots on the suspension on mine since shortly after buying it. Why are you guys acting like if he doesn't spend $120 on dust covers the wheels are going to fall off the thing?

Dust covers are indeed optional. I have run without them.
Using the OEM bump stops with coil overs? Bad idea.
In fact the OEM NA rear upper mounts suck too when lowered.
But if cheap is the goal....I guess that meets it.

True that, when I lower the car, the first thing I will get is atleast NB rear upper shock mounts if going the cheap route. Rear NA upper shock mounts have little shock travel when the car is lowered.

well yeah, but cut a couple 'rings' off and they'll serve the purpose just fine

Yeah, BTDT. Sucksville.

For the rears this is the way to go...

Or FM tophats.
In both cases progressive bum stops would be the ticket.

Jeez, talk about paying for bling there. These will do the job just as well:

It will do the job for 'cheap'...true. To be honest though $85-90 for those isnt really even that cheap.
I guess it all depends on the use.
I wouldnt use ISC's junk on a street car I had any pride in. Elecheapo track rat...yeah maybe. But they will work. However, I wouldnt compare a unit like FMs or DP6061's to butchered steel units with no spherical bearing/bushing.
But it certainly will work...and is certainly better then crap OEM top mount on lowered car giving you more shock travel.

It is another option for sure.

Thanks fellas.......it will have to wait for the next upgrade the rear was easy bout and hr for both sides, BUT the front strut/spring combo was a biaatch took me 4 hrs for the front. I ran outta daylight but everything turned out great. It doesn't feel that much stiffer but gave me the ride height I was looking for plus it drives much better the old shocks were complete crap very worth the upgrade!
