Actually..in fact Dec 25 is not the birthday of Jesus but the supposed birthday of Tammuz the Babylonian and Sumerian Sun God and son of Ishtar the 'mother of god'.
It is a pagan holiday of feasting, orgies, and gift giving called Saturnalia in Roman culture...and was adopted and 'sanctified' by the catholic church which has been subsequently 'swallowed whole' by other churches.....but thats not the topic here. LOL....

Sorry...I am a bit of a geek on the history of religious symbols and rituals. ;)

As for the secret satan...err santa....:D I think it could be fun. :)

Why don't we try it this way. Everyone buy their gifts and meet up at someone's house. At that time, numbers will be assigned to the presents and everyone will draw a number out of a hat. If you draw #4, then you get present that has #4 on it. Easy enough and no one will know who bought who what and there won't be any dispute. :)

Because in that method the gifts have to be universal, meaning someone undoubtedly is not going to like something they got, whereas if you know who you're buying for, the gift can actually mean something.
This method has never caused a dispute before. The forum we've been running it on has done so successfully for 3 years now with about 100 people participating.
