Anyone else able to browse the internet in such a fashion?

I got a GeForce 210 HDMI capable card for $25 so then I went on Amazon and got a 15' HDMI cable for $6/shipped. Now I can catch up on some TV shows I like without having to sit at my desk or watch them on my laptop. :)

Yeah I have a media center PC, though I actually very rarely use it.

Very cool, I should have you rig up my 72" HD like that, alas it's only 720p, the pain of being an early adopter...

That's cool. I connect to my TV via the Xbox 360 I have on the same network. It streams pretty much everything.

I haven't connected my Xbox to the internet, because I don't want my 11 year old getting flamed by some a@#hole in his mother's basement playing call of duty 19.

This tells me I have not explored the capabilities of my 360 thoroughly enough.

I have a 24" computer monitor that is always running at 1920 x 1200. Which is better than 1080p.

It completely caught me off guard when I found out I could do it. I used to just throw my programs on usb drives and do it that way. But after I plugged the 360 into my wireless router (I don't have the xbox wireless adapter) a pop up box suddenly appeared in Windows 7 and now an image of a 360 shows up in devices. Then I created a shared folder, throw my videos in there and off we go!

32" > 24" :p

I just found that when you posted, had to do a quick setup for my XP based file storage system, but it works. That's awesome! Thanks for pointing that out!

I need to setup my stuff like this to take advantage of the new 1080 Top Gear rips out there.

I've had some kind of xp box that does all my media (tv recording, music, photos, movies, videos) hooked up to the tv for over five years now. Rarely use it for surfing though. At the moment it's connected to my 720p Sony 55". Before that it was running on a 1080p HP DLP, which crapped out on me right after the warranty. Saved myself $800 by purchasing a new Sony vs. repairing the HP. At the time I had 1080p, there was so little content available that it never seemed worth the "entry fee". Of course nowadays it's hard not to get 1080p hardware.

I stepped down from a 101 inch DLP projector to a Sony 52" 1080P Bravia. It's my second monitor/PS3/Cable.

I might throw together a Linux media center equivalent with spare parts I have lying around.
